Park Bo-gum says he never sleeps without doing this — even on his busiest days

It felt like the first day of school and the whole theatre was buzzing. As part of his “Be With You” fan meeting tour, Park Bo-gum made his long-awaited return to Singapore at The Star Theatre on Thursday, August 14, where fans were treated to a night filled with music, memories, and his signature boyish charm. Dressed in a blue blazer and crisp white shirt that gave off a preppy, back-to-school vibe, the Korean heartthrob opened the show by belting out some of his favourite tracks, instantly reminding everyone why he remains one of K-entertainment’s most beloved stars.

Six years since his last fanmeet here, and 14 years into his career, Bo-gum’s comeback felt less like a performance and more like an intimate reunion. 

A crowd that cheered him on

If there’s one thing to be said about Park Bo-gum fans, it’s how supportive they are. The atmosphere inside The Star Theatre was electric, with audiences responding to every smile, every line, every song. And when Bo-gum hesitated with his English, the crowd encouraged him to speak comfortably in Korean, creating a space where he could simply be himself.

As a matter of fact, he went as far as charming the audience further by gamely trying out Singlish, saying “wah, so hot sia!” with a smile that immediately had everyone laughing — a sweet moment that showed just how much effort he put into connecting with the local crowd.

His everyday life, and why showers matter

When he got to the segment about his daily life, Bo-gum shared how he starts each day with a jog by the Han River before diving into meals, work, and routines. That morning in Singapore, he even ran around Marina Bay Sands, later expressing gratitude to fans for respecting his boundaries and giving him space.

But the real highlight came when he spoke about his shower routine. Bo-gum confessed he has never gone to bed without showering, no matter how packed his schedule. In fact, he sometimes showers in between his schedules to feel fresh between activities. It’s a detail that stood out — especially given the playful debates in Singapore over shower frequency.

Revisiting his acting highlights

During the fanmeet, fans were also treated to a reel of Bo-gum’s most memorable scenes. A tender moment from When Life Gives You Tangerines showcased his ability to bring depth to the simplest gestures, while Good Boy, his latest Amazon Prime drama, revealed an entirely new side of him.

Bo-gum admitted the role of Yoon Dong-ju in Good Boy— his first action character — was a challenge, but one he fully embraced with two hours of daily boxing practice. The result: a gripping fight sequence shot in a single take that proved just how versatile he has become.

Of course, the crowd went wild for that infamous shower scene. While fans squealed, Bo-gum himself turned visibly shy and flustered watching it onscreen, a moment that showed he’s still endearingly modest despite his heartthrob status.

Amazing fan service

If the night felt like a drama, it was also a mini-concert for the fans. Beyond his Korean songs, Bo-gum surprised everyone with a rendition of ‘Singapura, Sunny Island’, accompanying himself on the piano as fans sang along. 

What struck me most, though, was his sincerity. New roles

The fanmeet also came with announcements. Bo-gum revealed that he has been appointed as the honorary ambassador for 2025 Korea Tourism, a role that feels perfectly suited to his wholesome image. On top of that, he’s now the face of Korean Red Ginseng Extract’s Jeong Kwan Jang, a health functional food brand operated by KGC (Korea Ginseng Corporation)— which he confessed he consumes regularly.

Ending on a high note

Though the event was slated to end at 10pm, Bo-gum lingered, performing a slew of songs after a quick outfit change and repeatedly thanking his fans. It almost felt like he couldn’t bear to say goodbye and the audience certainly didn’t want him to.

As the night came to a close, after almost three and a half hours, what lingered wasn’t just his flawless performances or even his boy-next-door charm. It was his sincerity, the way he poured his heart into every segment, and the intimacy he built with his fans. If this fanmeet was a train ride, then Park Bo-gum made sure no one wanted to get off.
