Netflix’s Single’s Inferno recently wrapped up its fifth season and boy, was it a roller coaster ride for all of us. Viewers were actively choosing sides, with many rooting for couples like Kim Min-gee and Song Seung-il, as well as Park Hee-sun and Lim Su-bin, while the controversial Choi Mina Sue faced the brunt of the backlash for appearing rather indecisive throughout the show.

What is the Single’s Inferno reunion about?

Given the popularity of the show, Netflix returned with a reunion special to surprise fans — giving us a glimpse of what their relationships looked like after filming (and whether they’re actually still dating), while also capturing the contestants’ reactions a week before it launched on Netflix.

The reunion special is the first of its kind for the series and, considering how successful this season was, it’s clear viewers wanted more. And more is exactly what we got. Not just one episode, but five lengthy ones to keep us entertained.

The drama didn’t just end in Inferno either. In fact, it carried straight into the reunion, leaving viewers shocked that certain couples didn’t work out despite their fiery onscreen chemistry.

If you’ve already caught up, you probably know all the answers. But if you don’t have the time to watch and just want the tea, we’ve got you covered. From Kim Min-gee’s shocking reveal to Park Hee-sun and Lim Su-bin’s sweet (and still blossoming) journey, here’s what you might have missed from the reunion.

Kim Min-gee and Song Seung-il (Not together)

Let’s be real. Everyone was rooting for them. When they picked each other in the finale, we were excited to see what would happen next. But what many didn’t realise was that despite how much of a green flag Song Seung-il seemed, things weren’t quite what they appeared to be.

In her confessional during episode one of the reunion, Kim Min-gee revealed she felt a growing distance between them. They didn’t go on any dates after the show, and reaching out felt one-sided. While Song Seung-il described them as “close friends”, Min-gee admitted she didn’t even know where the relationship stood. She also shared that he ultimately cut things off and heartbreakingly added that the person she liked is still stuck in Inferno.

Naturally, fans began questioning whether Song Seung-il’s final choice was truly genuine or simply strategic.

Choi Mina Sue and Lee Sung-hun (Not together)

Given how indecisive Choi Mina Sue appeared on the show, fans were surprised (or perhaps not) when she chose Lee Sung-hun as her final pairing. Their dynamic felt more friendly than romantic, so many viewers thought the decision seemed forced.

During the reunion, it was revealed that they are not seeing each other. Sung-hun said they kept in touch but couldn’t meet due to busy schedules. Mina Sue, on the other hand, admitted that her time in Inferno was uncomfortable, and seeing Sung-hun reminded her of that experience. Still, she clarified that he was a great guy and someone she relied on while there. Once they left Inferno, however, their connection felt uncertain.

Adding fuel to the fire, Lee Sung-hun was later spotted at Disneyland in the US with another woman rumoured to be his girlfriend. In clips posted by a Chinese netizen, the two appeared cosy and were seen holding hands.

Park Hee-sun and Lim Su-bin (Dating)

These two are at least dating, if not officially together. They posted photos of each other in carousel posts alongside other cast members and described their connection as “cherished”. Some fans believe they were hard-launching their relationship, while others are still unsure where they stand.

After the show ended, they dated for a while before Park Hee-sun returned to the US. Initially, Su-bin considered ending things, not wanting to pursue long distance. But he later changed his mind, realising her time abroad wasn’t permanent. They chatted at least five days a week and caught up over the phone regularly. Now that she’s back in South Korea, their feelings continue to blossom as they’re still learning more about each other.

Kim Jae-jin and Lee Joo-young

They haven’t officially confirmed they’re dating, but rumours suggest otherwise. After the show, they grabbed ice cream together, he attended one of her exhibitions, and she went to one of his shows. Things seem to be going well. They’re in regular contact, and both want to make it last.

Basically, they’re interested in each other, enjoy each other’s company, but prefer to keep things low-key.

Kim Go-eun and Woo Sung-min (Not together)

Sung-min and Go-eun are not together. They shared that they did have a few meals after the show, but articles about her started surfacing just a week after filming wrapped. Because of that, they couldn’t meet publicly without risking spoilers, nor could they spend time privately at each other’s homes.

Sung-min said work also got in the way, making it difficult to find time together. They tried, but ultimately it didn’t work out. Meanwhile, Go-eun admitted that while they initially clicked because they were so similar, they later worried that those similarities might lead to arguments. They’ve decided to remain good friends and she made it clear there’s no chance of anything more.

Kim Go-eun and Jo I-geon

Go-eun and I-geon always had chemistry, especially after he entered as the season’s game-changer. During the reunion screening, sparks seemed to fly again. The two had a meal together afterwards to catch up, something they hadn’t done after leaving Inferno.

It even looked like they were planning a date next, so there’s a possibility that something could develop between them.
