2025 is flying by. We’re already halfway through the year, and everyone’s craving a quick escape… but your wallet might not be quite on board (pun intended). The good news? Now’s the perfect time to plan ahead. Booking early doesn’t just save you money, it saves you the stress. With a bit of planning, you can spend less, dodge peak prices, and still score the getaway you’ve been dreaming about. We did the work for you and found the best deals online:

There are two public holidays left in 2025:

  • Deepavali (Monday, 20 October)
  • Christmas Day (Thursday, 25 December)

If you’re smart about it, each of these can be stretched into a proper break by just taking one or two days off. That’s maximum vacation time for minimal annual leave, which sounds like the ultimate win-win situation to me.

If you’re up for an adventure, Mongolia should be on your radar. Starting 4 November 2025, MIAT Mongolian Airlines will launch direct flights between Singapore and Ulaanbaatar, operating twice a week. Just a stone’s throw from sweeping deserts and endless plains, the Mongolian capital is rich with history, culture, and wide-open spaces - perfect for those looking to get off the beaten path.

Price: from SGD385

If you need a ballpark budget to help you get going: most flights can be kept under SGD250, whilst accommodation starts around SGD50 a night. Depending on your destination, you’ll likely spend about SGD30 to 50 a day on food, transport and fun.

TIP: Using apps like Skyscanner, Hopper, and Google Flights is your best friend here – set alerts and pounce when fares drop.

A little planning now means a lot more play later. So pull up your calendar, pick a city, and start making that holiday happen. You’ll thank yourself when you’re sipping an iced coffee in Bali or watching snow fall in Japan.
