Joanne Peh and Qi Yuwu (2014)
Singaporean actress Joanne Peh and actor Qi Yuwu celebrated 11 years of marriage in September 2025. The couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at Movenpick Heritage Hotel in Sentosa in 2014 and have two children – a daughter born in 2015 and a son in 2017, whose names and faces remain private.
In a 2024 column for Lianhe Zaobao, Peh reflected on their decade together, saying the strength of their marriage comes from mutual respect and shared values.
She credited Qi’s support for giving her the confidence to explore new ventures, writing: “The power and warmth of marriage come from mutual respect and understanding. His support and encouragement have helped me to feel brave enough to explore new territories in childhood education, podcasting and livestreaming. And he is always there to be my strongest backing whenever I am met with challenges and failures.”
Yvonne Lim and Alex Tien (2014)
Local actress Yvonne Lim married former Taiwanese boy band member Alex Tien on September 7, 2014. In 2024, Lim shared on Instagram a funny anniversary moment: she had tried to surprise Tien, who turned 45 on September 12, with birthday pies, only to be surprised herself when he and their children gave her presents and flowers—reminding her of their wedding anniversary.
Reflecting on their decade together, she wrote: “A decade of emotions and memories, ups and downs, of course. Thank you for remembering special days like this, when I can be absent-minded… Though you still get on my nerves, I’m so blessed to walk this life with you.”
In an interview with Lianhe Zaobao, Lim admitted it’s not the first time she’s forgotten their anniversary, as September is packed with friends’ and family birthdays, including her own on the 28th.
Fun fact? Lim, who has two children with Tien – nine-year-old son A.J. and seven-year-old daughter Alexa – recalled that she was five months pregnant at her wedding.
“My ideal wedding dress would be something form-fitting that would have showed off my figure, but alas, I couldn’t wear that at the time.”
Fann Wong and Christopher Lee (2009)
Arguably Singapore’s most beloved power couple, their relationship is like a fairytale. The pair played onscreen lovers several times – the most notable one being Return Of The Condor Heroes (1998) –— but fell in love and officially got together while working on Looking for Stars in 2000.
They were famously private about their relationship, only admitting to it three years later and going public together a year after that. They got hitched in 2009, and after fending off media scrutiny about their baby-making plans for five years, Fann gave birth to a boy named Zed, who is now four.
The pair, whose latest collaboration Doppelganger (2018) saw them acting as onscreen lovers again after more than 10 years, are still very affectionate. Fann lovingly calls him her “ai ai” (love love, in Mandarin) or “baobei” (precious dear in Mandarin) on social media, and the pair often tease each other playfully and cheekily during interviews.
Pan Lingling and Huang Shinan (1996)
Veteran actress Pan Lingling and businessman Huang Shinan have been married since 1996 and have two sons, Beckham Wee and Kynaston.
A memorable anecdote from their marriage: the couple took their wedding photos at Orchid Country Club’s golf course and, 24 years later, returned to the same spot to tee off and relive those cherished memories!
Fandi Ahmad and Wendy Jacobs (1996)
Fandi Ahmad and Wendy Jacobs have been married since 1996 and have five children, yet their relationship still feels like a honeymoon. They spent their actual honeymoon at Disneyland – a fitting start to their own personal fairytale.
In 2008, when Wendy faced a serious illness that left her bedridden and with paralytic and seizure-like symptoms, Fandi stood steadfastly by her side. Today, the couple is often dubbed Singapore’s own David and Victoria Beckham, with their children making their mark in modelling and soccer.
Andie Chen and Kate Pang (2013)
Married in 2013, Singaporean actor Andie Chen and Taiwanese actress Kate Pang have crafted a modern love story that blends career and family. Chen moved to Taiwan, Pang’s hometown, taking the lead in caring for their young children, Aden and Avery, while Pang worked in Singapore.
Today, the couple gracefully shuttles between cities, proving that love and partnership can thrive even across distances.
Zheng Geping and Hong Hui Fang (1992)
The down-to-earth couple have been together for over two decades and still radiate happiness.
But it wasn’t love at first sight when they first met as colleagues at Mediacorp (then Singapore Broadcasting Corporation). Ge Ping, three years Hui Fang’s junior, was a rookie actor who didn’t expect the Ah Jie to notice him, while Hui Fang initially thought he was an “Ah Beng” (hooligan).
Their connection grew during a chalet getaway with mutual friends, where they got to know each other better and eventually fell in love. Today, they are proud parents of two television stars, Tay Ying, born 1996, and Calvert, born 2000.
The couple makes a conscious effort to keep the spark alive – sharing quiet couple time, enjoying a glass of wine after the kids go to bed, and maintaining sweet daily rituals: “Hunkle” Ge Ping kisses her goodnight every night, while Hui Fang bakes bread for him each morning.
Chen Liping and Rayson Tan (1998)
Veteran actors Chen Liping and Rayson Tan have weathered both highs and lows – including the Slim 10 saga – and remain a strong, loving couple. They have a son, Xavier, born in 2002.
A fun quirk of their marriage: Liping, who had worn countless wedding dresses for work, had a phobia of them and never took official wedding photos. It wasn’t until 2015, 17 years later, that they posed for “wedding photos” for a drama. Interestingly, their first on-screen pairing in Golden Shenton Way (1990) had them play a married couple – complete with wedding photos – long before they were a real-life couple.
Even after decades together, they remain devoted. Liping credits Rayson for being incredibly supportive through life’s changes, proving he’s truly a keeper.
Xiang Yun and Edmund Chen (1989)
One of Caldecott Hill’s most beloved celebrity couples, Xiang Yun and Edmund Chen have been turning heads – and hearts – since their first drama together in 1989, a series about the traffic police. Xiang Yun has said she was charmed when Edmund sauntered onto set with earphones on and impressed by his gentlemanly nature – he even draped a towel over her after a rainy scene.
The pair famously tied the knot just three months after meeting, causing a stir at the time. They have two children, son Yi Xi, and daughter Yi Xin. Despite the occasional quarrel – once so intense on set that the crew quietly slipped away – they’ve always worked things out. Family time is a priority, with at least one trip a year together. According to their children, the couple loves to joke around and are genuinely happy people – a reminder that couples who laugh together, stay together.
Priscelia Chan and Alan Tern (2007)
Actors Priscelia Chan and Alan Tern met in 2002 while filming Springs of Life and were close friends for years before marrying in 2007. Chan often gushes about her husband, now an actor-turned-businessman, praising his love, patience, and unwavering support – especially during a challenging two-year health ordeal.
On Instagram, she wrote, “Words cannot describe how thankful I am… A husband who never despises me and still tells me I am beautiful in your eyes.”
The couple credits the lasting success of their marriage to love, communication, affection, respect, and a good sense of humour – a truly sweet formula for lifelong happiness.
Diana Ser and James Lye (2004)
Diana Ser, a former actress-turned-presenter, and actor-turned-banker James Lye first met in 1994 on the set of Showbuzz and tied the knot in 2004 after a nine-year courtship. The couple are proud parents of three children – Jake, Christy, and Jayme – and remain lovingly affectionate.
Although busy and focused on their kids, they make it a point to carve out couple time, whether on a holiday for just the two of them or a simple meal together. Ser shared with The Straits Times: “We must accept that our notion of romance has evolved. Now we connect on a different level. Playing together with the kids is deeply satisfying because you’ve built this family together.” Wise words indeed.
Pierre Png and Andrea de Cruz (2003)
The romance of Pierre Png and Andrea De Cruz reads like a real-life epic, full of love, sacrifice, and resilience. Pierre first noticed Andrea leaving a salon with a fresh haircut, and a few years later, their paths crossed again at a play, sparking the beginning of their relationship.
In 2002, their love was put to the ultimate test when Andrea suffered liver failure after taking Slim 10 slimming pills. Pierre, then her boyfriend, donated part of his liver to save her life. Andrea has since been on anti-rejection medication, and the couple face the ongoing possibility of complications – but their bond remains strong.
Though they have accepted that they will not have children, the couple finds joy in their dogs and keeps their relationship vibrant through commitment, acceptance, and spontaneity. As Andrea once said, “Life is short,” a philosophy they clearly live by.
Melody Chen and Randall Tan (2007)
Melody Chen and Randall Tan first met on the set of the TC skit series The Donny Lee Show in 1996 and later played lovers in The Teenage Textbook Movie in 1998 – but it wasn’t until 2007, when Randall was struck by the debilitating nerve disorder Guillain-Barre Syndrome, that they realised their feelings for each other.
After marrying, the couple endured nine years of trying for a child, facing a miscarriage and a failed IVF before welcoming miracle twins, Reuben Michael and Maegan Riley, in November 2017. Today, Melody frequently shares glimpses of life as parents to the #mezzarantwins. Their journey is a testament to patience, resilience, and love.
Tay Kewei and Alfred Sim (2014)
Project SuperStar alumni Tay Kewei and Alfred Sim first met in 2004 while guest-singing at another artist’s EP launch. Their shared passion for music soon sparked a connection, and they began dating in 2005.
As their relationship blossomed, both careers started taking off, leaving little time together – yet their mutual drive only strengthened their bond. In 2014, Alfred proposed with a meticulously planned four-month surprise, complete with a live band and a trip to Japan the following morning – a proposal reportedly valued in the five-figure range. The couple even wrote and performed a duet for their wedding.
Today, Tay and Alfred cherish family time with their three children, often enjoying jam sessions at home and coordinating outfits for photoshoots.
Vernon A and Jayne Tham (2014)
Listeners may recognise Vernon A’s voice from CLASS 95, but his wife Jayne Tham has carved out her own space as a blogger and model. The couple met through a mutual friend on Facebook and have been married since 2014.
Despite an 18-year age gap, their relationship has remained strong – proving that age is just a number. They are proud parents to two children, Liam and Niall (no, the One Direction connection is purely coincidental). From an epic wedding to family adventures, their life together is full of joyful moments – including matching Sanrio onesies during trips to Japan, showing a couple who knows how to have fun together is truly a keeper.
