From now till July 22, 2018, Goodwood Park Hotel is hosting its latest themed afternoon tea, the ‘Victorian English Afternoon Tea’ at L’Espresso.

Alongside the mainstays of fresh-baked English scones and petit cakes, the buffet will also introduce a range of other treats inspired by staples from traditional English afternoon teas

From the sandwich counter, expect a more traditional selection such as the coronation chicken (a cold dish of chicken cooked with herbs and mixed with mayo) with a sweet mango chutney and almonds. There’s also a more creative take on other classics: the beef Wellington is represented as an arrangement of slices of parma ham, beef pastrami and a spread of portobello confit. The ‘Three Little Pigs’ with smoked pork, gammon ham and meatloaf is another moreish sammich to go for.

But don’t fill up on those yet. The carving station also has a baked salmon Florentine puff, served with wild rice and horseradish cream. Other hot savouries include a hearty stew of braised pork in stout, Toad-in-the-Hole (aka sausage in a Yorkshire pudding, yum!) and a rustic cottage pie.

The tea menu is available at the same price of $48++ per adult and $24++ per child from Fridays to Sundays, eve of and on public holidays; and $45++ per adult and $22.50++ per child from Mondays to Thursdays, including two coffees or tea.

Fancy some tipple to lighten up the afternoon? Go for an additional glass of champagne, which totals up to $72++ per adult from Fridays to Sundays, eve of and on public holidays, or $68++ per adult from Mondays to Thursdays.
