SPH Magazines bagged seven prizes at this year’s Media Publishers Association Singapore (MPAS) Awards, which recognise outstanding and creative work in the magazine publishing industry here.
Her World, the monthly women’s magazine with about 183,000 readers, was named Women’s Media of the Year on Thursday during the ceremony at the Rendezvous Hotel Singapore.
Three other SPH magazines received top honours.
The Peak Selections: Gourmet & Travel, which has clinched numerous local and international awards since its inception four years ago, won in the Food Media of the Year category.
Topping the Travel Media of the Year segment was SilverKris, the travel magazine of Singapore Airlines, with a global readership of 1.5 million.
Torque, the home-grown car magazine, tied with Asian Diver for the Special Interest Media of the Year award.
In addition, merit awards were won by Female magazine in the Lifestyle/Fashion/Entertainment Media of the Year category, and by Her World and herworldPLUS in the Integrated Media Brand of the Year category.
SPH Magazines – a wholly owned subsidiary of media organisation Singapore Press Holdings, which also owns The Straits Times – was also presented with a merit award for Media Publishing Company of the Year.
In all, there were 30 award categories.

Added SPH Magazines group editor- in-chief Caroline Ngui: “The teams constantly strive for editorial and creative excellence aimed at pushing the envelope in order to stay relevant to readers. The end products speak for themselves so it is extremely gratifying for the teams to know the judges have taken notice.”
MPAS has 45 publisher members that produce over 300 consumer, business and customer publications.
