Making grocery runs are annoying, heavy and time consuming – and when you’re in the middle of making plans for Chinese New Year, it could all seem impossible. Show your mom (or your legs!) some love by pre-ordering the groceries online so she (they) can take a well-deserved break.

The seafood section seems scant but the site promises to deliver as early as possible. Simply type in your postal code to find out when they can deliver soonest. The delivery slots, however, are available on demand, so be prepared to receive it at a funky timing if you have to.

Shipping and delivery: The flat rate for delivery is $7. For orders $75 and above, delivery is free. Simply choose the earliest delivery slot and be home to answer the door.

2. GoFresh

This site clearly has a good rep online. The website is updated frequently and the sales are relevant – you’ll definitely want to get that lobster broth stock as a steamboat cheat!

Shipping and delivery: $15 delivery charge is applied when your order is under $60; minimum orders are $40. For orders above $60, delivery is free.

3. FairPrice

Laggy website aside, this well loved supermart still delivers and carries the biggest range of grocery products; especially Chinese New Year hampers and deli meats. Not to mention, you also get access to FairPrice finest and FairPrice xtra.

Shipping and delivery: For orders below $60, the delivery charge is $10.70. For orders above $60, the delivery charge is $7.49 and for bulk orders with more than 600 products, the delivery charge comes to $26.75.

4. Purely Fresh

This was the site with the greatest range of fresh seafood and yong tau foo; they had cockles, crabs and even sea cucumber! The clean layout is super easy to use as well.

Shipping and delivery: You need to order a minimum of $30 worth of products, with a $15 delivery charge. Delivery is free for orders above $60.

5. Cold Storage

Sadly, we did not see any CNY hampers available for purchase online. What impressed us was the sheer variety of beef. Huat ah!

Shipping and delivery: $7 for orders $60 and above. For orders below $60, delivery charges are set at $12. Special requests can be catered to for an extra fee.

6. Sheng Siong

Sheng Siong offers a trimmed down prices compared to many places, it’s true, but they only deliver to specific areas of Singapore. Their massive range of products makes up for it though – no wonder they’re always selling out.

Shipping and delivery: For orders under $70, there is a surcharge of $7. The delivery fee is waived when an order is over $70.

7. Giant

This site must be the most CNY-centric online grocer I’ve seen ‒ they don’t just offer a fantastic variety of CNY snacks, food and hampers ‒ they’re also selling mahjong tables as well!

Shipping and delivery: $12 will be charged for orders under $60. For orders over $60, delivery is charged at $7. For same day delivery, be sure to place your orders before 11am.
