The Formula One Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix is right around the corner and if you’re just as excited as we are about the race weekend, then you’re in for a real treat. Ahead of the event that’s happening from the 20th to the 22nd of September, you’ll get the chance to immerse yourself in a slew of activities to discover more about the pinnacle of motorsport. Some of these activities include behind-the-scenes tours, a karting competition, pop-up festivals, and a Pit Lane walk.

That being said, leading up to the Grand Prix weekend, we’ve rounded up some of the things for you to check out in Singapore with your friends and family over the next few weeks.

Behind-The-Scenes Tour

Happening from now till August, fans of the motorsport will have the opportunity to discover what goes on behind the scenes at the F1 Pit Building through exclusive guided tours of the facility. Unlike the previous years, this time, more tour sessions have been added to meet the growing demand. As part of the tours, you’ll get to learn more about Formula 1 night racing, as well as the sustainability practices that are put into place for the event. Not to mention, you’ll also gain access to exclusive areas that are usually restricted, such as the Race Control room, Media Centre, and podium.

#RevUpSG Karting Challenge

Think you have what it takes to be a race car driver? Why not try your hands at the #RevUpSG Karting Challenge that’s happening from 3 to 4 August at The Palawan @ Sentosa – HyperDrive.

On the first day, you’ll get the chance to compete for a place in the qualifying session, of which the top 10 racers will earn a spot for the next round the following day. On 4th August, the top drivers will then compete with one another for a spot on the podium, of which the top three racers will stand a chance to win tickets to the Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix 2024 alongside merchandise from Red Bull and The Palawan @ Sentosa vouchers.

The challenge is open to locals aged between nine to 17 (Category A), and those 18 and above (Category B).

#RevUpSG Festivals

Leading up to the Grand Prix in Singapore, there will be #RevUpSG Festivals that will be held at different locations across the island. These locations include Suntec City (27 to 28 July), One Punggol (24 to 25 August), and Toa Payoh HDB Hub (31 August to 1 September).

Here, you can look forward to a wide range of F1-themed activities, such as having a go at race simulators, feeling the thrill of racing in an open-cockpit vehicle, and getting a first look at the official 2024 Singapore GP merchandise. Plus, Formula 1 fans can rally together to watch live screenings of the Belgian, Dutch, and Italian Grands Prix at the event.

Pit Lane Experience

Fans have always raved about the Pit Lane Experience on race weekend and if you’ve yet to check it out yourself, then fret not. Held on Thursday, 19 September, up to 4,500 lucky residents will have the exclusive opportunity to walk down the Singapore Pit Lane and get an up-close look at the Formula 1 team garages before the Circuit Park officially opens.

Tickets for the Pit Lane Experience on September 19 are available exclusively to local residents through a ballot, which opens on August 1.
