RECIPE: Make tasty rojak in 3 easy steps
Chop, toss, serve ─ that's all there really is to making this delicious recipe

Recipe by Kenneth Francisco, executive chef at Good Old Days.
For the sauce:
2 tbsp shrimp paste^
3 tbsp lime juice
2 tbsp white sugar
15g toasted peanuts
60g cucumber, washed and cut into bite-size pieces
60g pineapple, peeled, cored and cut into bite-size pieces
60g sweet turnip, cut into bite-size pieces
30g bean sprouts, cut in half
40g taupok, toasted for 3min and cut into bite-size pieces
60g you tiao, toasted for 3min and cut into bite-size pieces
1 torch ginger flower bud*, finely minced
30g crushed roasted peanuts
^Also sometime referred to as Shrimp Sauce or Prawn Paste, this dull grey pate is different from sambal shrimp paste. Available in the condiments aisle of major supermarkets.
*Available at wet markets like Tekka market.
DIRECTIONS
1. Add the sauce ingredients into a mixing bowl and mix well.
2. Mix in all the remaining ingredients, except the crushed peanuts.
3. Sprinkle the crushed peanuts to serve.
