It is said that Oktoberfest has its origins as a celebratory event to mark the the marriage of Crown Prince Ludwig to to Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen on 12th October 1810. Citizens of Munich were invited to attend the feasting and the celebrations ended with a horse race. Along the way, the decision was made to repeat the horse races and festivities the next year and this eventually became Oktoberfest — the world’s largest beer festival and one that is also widely celebrated all around the world.

Here are some places you can go for your bratwurst and booze in Singapore. Eat, drink and be merry. Prost!
