If you’ve always looked on in awe at how the chefs at Crystal Jade restaurants stretch and pull on a heap of dough to create the thread-thin noodles in your bowl, here’s your chance to try your hand at making your own la mian.
In celebration of its twentieth anniversary, Crystal Jade will be holding its inaugural Culinary Carnival at nex from August 5 to 7, and all profits from the carnival will be going to World Vision, and International Aid Organisation dedicated to working with children, families and their communities worldwide to tackle the causes of poverty and injustice.
With Member of Parliament for Chua Chu Kang GRC, Mr Zaqy Mohamad officiating the event launch as guest-of-honour, the carnival will feature a wide selection of Crystal Jade menu items – including favourites from its fine-dining and casual outlets, family restaurants and bakeries.
This will be the first time members of the public will be able to sample such a wide range of Crystal Jade dishes all in one location. Top Crystal Jade chefs will also be giving live demonstrations on how to make mooncakes and la mian, while the public can participate in quizzes and competitions.
If you belong to a family of foodies, head on down to nex this weekend and enjoy a day of good food and fun.
Crystal Jade’s Culinary Carnival will take place from August 5 to 7 at nex@Serangoon.
Carnival coupons are sold in books of $30 and are available at all Crystal Jade outlets. Alternatively, you can call 6512 0800 to place an order your coupons. Coupon books purchased with Citibank credit cards will contain an additional $5 coupon. For more information, visit www.crystaljade.com.
