Gift shopping during Christmas is always a hectic task. You’ll have to walk from shop to shop looking for a perfect gift for your loved ones. It gets tiring after a while and you are dying to find somewhere to sit and rest your feet. Maybe sip on a cup of coffee and have a slice of cake while you’re at it too.
Well, we’ve compiled five cafes located in malls that serve delicious cakes and drinks for you to rest at in between Xmas shopping.
Forget about eating one slice of Mille Crepe cake at Lady M, you’ll want the whole cake. Twenty handmade crepes layered with light pastry cream – it already sounds too yummy to resist. Other offerings include Strawberry Shortcake, a dark chocolate cake with velvety mousse and a vanilla and chocolate checkered cake.
For the festive season, Lady M has released an exclusive drink, Peppermint Mocha. Peppermint, chocolate and a shot of house espresso – the perfect beverage to get you into the Christmas spirit.

In Good Company
Sharing the Ion Orchard space with local label, In Good Company, is Plain Vanilla Bakery. The local bakery is famous for their decadent cupcake flavours like earl grey lavender and red velvet, but also serves other treats like Peanut Butter Chocolate Brownie and Flourless Chocolate Cake.
While you shop around the store, leave your man with a sweet treat and a cup of their Chai Tea Latte or iced coffee. That’ll be sure to keep them from complaining about gift shopping.
Bonus: the bakery will be taking orders for their dark chocolate-frosted Kahlua and meringue-frosted Raspberry Log Cakes at their stores, via email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or give them a call at 64655942.

Tiong Bahru Bakery
You can never go wrong with classic French pastries like croissants and kouign amanns, and we all know that Tiong Bahru Bakery does them best. But fret not, they didn’t forget about those with a sweet tooth. The bakery offers a sweet pastry called Tropezienne, which originates from Saint Tropez in France and Petit Antoine, a layered praline pastry amongst other delectable goodies.

Like unexpected twists on your usual goodies? Head to Amiral Atelier and try Peaches – a Japanese white peach & yuzu gelee with champagne and peach mousse or the Coconut Carrot Cake which is made with 100% organic cold pressed coconut oil.
Alternatively, you can opt for their matcha offerings such as the Matcha Brownie and the Uji Matcha Eclair. Light meals and a selection of drinks are available too, so take your time and enjoy the food in between gift shopping.
Switch it up with Hoshino Coffee and their Souffle Pancakes. Light and airy, these special treats are extremely addictive. The Japanese cafe and restaurant also offers jiggly Pot-Baked Souffles in matcha and vanilla. Choose from their extensive beverage menu which includes Matcha Latte, Sakura Latte and a range of coffees that can be refilled at half the price.

Yet another cafe with unconventional creations. The Providore sells some pretty unique cakes such as a champagne mousse with white peach cake and a yuzu souffle cheesecake.
Have a cup of coffee alongside your desserts. The cafe uses coffee beans from Brother Basil & Co. in Melbourne which has a mix of dark and chocolatey flavours and a strong finish. Other drinks served at the establishment include Peanut Butter & Jelly milkshake and slow-pressed juices for a boost of energy.
