Located at the basement of Ion Orchard, Yoku Moku opened its first private buying room in Singapore this August. Although it is not the first in the world, such buying rooms are few and sparsely scattered across different countries. Known for their signature Cigare butter cookies, the new boutique allows you to shop away from the prying eyes of crowds.
As part of the whole omotenashi (Japanese hospitality) tradition, the new design concept boasts of an exclusive bespoke experience that creates an intimate shopping experience for you. That probably means that this coming Christmas you’ll never have to feel the pressure of a snaking queue behind you again.
Reminiscent of a textile store, the boxes of confectionary lining the walls of the boutique resembled bolts of silk – muted yet luxurious.
The best part? The new private buying room has no minimum charge and no appointment required. Simply walk-in after a long day of shopping and select cookies from an array of flavours. Take a rest on the luxe couches, and for the final touch, pick a ribbon of your choice while your cookies are being beautifully wrapped.
So if you’re wondering what would make a good gift this coming festive season, check out YOKU MOKU at ION Orchard B4-39 and Raffles City Shopping Centre, B1-50.
