Commune with loved ones over a Sunday roast at this homely diner. Its menu, with an attention to roast meats, sets this place apart; along with The General burger (above), which features a killer beef patty, aged cheddar, ketchup and caramelised onions. End the meal with a special coffee blend, or craft beer.

Located along a row of shop houses, this Aussie-inspired cafe successfully blends East and West, with gorgeous plating to boot. The kimchi fried rice with hanger steak is a highlight, but you can’t leave without ordering the visually-stunning berry ricotta hotcake infused with maple syrup. Dine as you watch the baristas in action at the open counter. But be warned: Waiting time can take up to 45 minutes.

With a front signage reminiscent of the London tube, this casual spot offers charming British eats with mod-Asian accents. The couple who runs Richmond Station returned to Singapore from the UK with a bakery dream, and now churn out delicious bakes like the lemon drizzle cake, and scones with Devonshire cream and jam. But they also score with savoury treats such as the Crab Benedict (served on either crumpets or English muffins). A cup of java completes the experience.

Craftsmen Specialty Coffee
This cosy (and busy) cafe is anchored on its carefully-crafted lattes and deliciously simple but comforting breakfast foods like the English muffin and eggs, or three-tier brioche. The iced espresso latte is a visual delight, featuring milk poured over frozen coffee cubes. And beware the warm cinnamon-coated churros dipped in a scoop of old-school vanilla – it’s very addictive!
