With a seafood theme this year, the 2012 edition of the Singapore Food Festival is set to sate your craving for crustaceans, fish and marine eats of all sorts.
Held from July 13 to 22 this year, the week-long event is activity-filled from start to finish: highlights include a seafood barbecue by the beach, a huge food fair at the waterfront and other seafood-related festivities.

Singapore Food Festival Village @ Marina Bay
Wander amongst nearly 50 food stalls at this large fair, with stalls by Seafood Paradise, Hideshi Yamamoto California, Apa Kitchen and more restaurants among them. A SEAFOOD BARBECUE FOR GROUP FUN
BBQ by the Beach at Sentosa
At this large beach event at Sentosa Island, have your seafood grilled and barbecued just the way you like it. Be it the traditional Hawaiian “imu” underground oven, the vertical grill or the regular barbeque grill, you know you’ll want to try it all. There’s meats to be had too: Top picks include Texas-style ribs laced with Bourbon and beer-marinated sausages.

CRUISE & DINE ON THE SINGAPORE RIVER FOR OLD SCHOOL CHARM
Tiffin Cruise @ Singapore River
Remember those old-school tiffin containers that your mum or grandmother would use? On this hour-long cruise, savour the homely-ness of a tiffin-packaged meal as you take in the sights along the Singapore River. And yes, you’ll get to take the tiffin carriers home too.

“Sea-food and eat” Cooking Workshop by Violet Oon
At this cooking workshop, learn to whip up dishes like fish curry, salted egg roe crabs and more popular Nonya and Singapore favourites. Conducted by popular Singapore chef Violet Oon, this culinary class is a treat in more ways than one: A full meal follows when the class ends.
