8 must-try experiential dining escapes in Singapore
Planning a romantic date out? These immersive restaurants and dining experiences in Singapore blend storytelling and world-class cuisine to give couples a fun-filled date like no other
By Elise Wong -
A romantic dinner in Singapore no longer has to be just candlelight and clinking wine glasses. Increasingly, the city’s culinary scene is embracing immersive dining – a global trend that transforms meals into multi-sensory adventures where storytelling, theatre, and atmosphere share the spotlight with food.
What does immersive dining mean?
Immersive dining goes beyond the plate. It is where cuisine meets, at times, theatre, technology, and storytelling, transforming a meal into a multi-sensory experience. Projection mapping, augmented reality, live performance, or curated atmospheres turn guests from passive diners into active participants, making every bite part of a larger narrative.
For couples, the notion of experiential dining offers an especially compelling allure: imagine feasting on bold Sri Lankan flavours at a chef’s high table, or stepping into a fantastical banquet where the table itself comes alive with light and projection.
These eight immersive dining experiences prove that date night in Singapore can be as unforgettable as it is delicious.

The High Table at HighHouse
For a more intimate exploration of flavour, The High Table at HighHouse offers couples a chance to savour Chef Rishi Naleendra’s Sri Lankan-inspired menu, available from 20 August to 31 October.
Known for his work at the two-Michelin-starred Cloudstreet, Kotuwa, and Station by Kotuwa, Chef Rishi presents seven meticulously crafted dishes alongside HighHouse’s existing menu.
Standouts include the sweet-savoury Chicken Liver Parfait Eclair with date glaze and madeira jelly; the rich Bengal Beef Tartare with spicy fermented chilli and beef fat crackers; and the playful Dutch Kingfish & Puffed Rice “Jhalmuri”, bright with Bombay spices.
Mains feature the Josper Grilled Red Snapper in coconut and mustard curry, while dessert ends on a high with a take on Station’s signature Valrhona Chocolate Biscuit Pudding with arrack-infused chantilly.
Perched on the 62nd floor of One Raffles Place, HighHouse pairs its sophisticated, sensuous vibe with panoramic views of the CBD – perfect for date night.
Cable Car Sky High Dining by Mount Faber
For dinner with a literal view, Cable Car Sky Dining by Mount Faber launched 16 August 2025, offering couples a three-course journey curated by Chef Mathew Leong, top Asian finalist of the 2025 Bocuse d’Or.
Guests begin with a welcome drink at The Mirabilis Bar before ascending in a private cable car cabin for starter and main course, soaring 100 metres above Singapore’s sunset skyline. The meal opens with Kombu-Cured Tuna Chutoro topped with Nordic Lojrom and horseradish buttermilk vinaigrette, followed by Open-Fire Grilled Japanese Wagyu Sirloin with yuzu kosho beef jus, and concludes with Oolong Tea Milk Ice Cream infused with citrus, lavender, and a Szechuan pepper crisp.
The full experience is priced at $138++ per guest, with wine pairings available for $22++ per glass or $112++ per bottle. Dessert is served upon return at Arbora Cafe.
Ginger.Lily Bar
For a different kind of sensory indulgence, Ginger.Lily Bar at Hilton Singapore Orchard, launched on 3 September, transforms cocktail culture into a multi-sensory journey.
Under the guidance of Assistant Bar Manager Michael Mendoza, the bar introduces “Synaesthesia 2.0” – a collection of cocktails (from $22) inspired by the five senses, each paired with complementary bites evoking familiar dishes such as tom yum, butter chicken, or pesto pasta.
Guests can enjoy live DJ sets every Friday and Saturday from 8pm to 11pm, as well as participate in co-creating the Cocktail of the Month through the bar’s interactive initiative, “Synaesthesia: Shaken by You.”
Hidden Table: Voyage of the Titanic
Singapore’s Royal Plaza on Scotts continues to push boundaries with Hidden Table: Voyage of the Titanic, the second immersive dining experience in its Hidden Table series.
Recently opened on 25 July and running Thursday to Sunday, diners embark on a journey of sound, scent, and taste in complete darkness. A four-course tasting menu represents stages of the RMS Titanic’s voyage, with several dishes inspired by its original First Class offerings.
Priced at approximately $98 per person, with a special rate of $60 per person for two tickets in celebration of SG60, the event encourages sensory focus and interaction without visual input.
Cavern Restaurant
Singapore’s first cave-inspired restaurant, Cavern Restaurant, brings the wonder of Sarawak’s UNESCO-listed Mulu Caves to Mandai’s Rainforest Wild ASIA. Managed by TungLok Group, this venue is illuminated by crystalline lights mimicking natural cave droplets, and the menu is a cosmopolitan blend of international flavours curated by Head Chef Sheng Lim.
Some of the dishes that you can look forward to include the Mushroom Soup, Caveman’s Meat Skewers of beef tenderloin, shallots, padron peppers, and button mushrooms, and the Wagyu Beef Burger with thick-cut fries and tangy pickles.
Perfect for romantic dinners or private events, the Cavern immerses diners in a wild yet elegant landscape where nature and gastronomy collide.
Wonderland Upside Down
For a wholly surreal adventure, Wonderland Upside Down by ANDSOFORTH invites diners to tumble down the Rabbit Hole into a theatrical, fever-dream take on Lewis Carroll’s classic.
Celebrating the company’s 10th anniversary, the experience begins at The Hatter’s Asylum with a welcome drink and DIY project before leading guests through rooms filled with animatronic creatures, playful actors, and five-course meals ranging from comforting Indian chicken korma to unconventional bites like salmon-based cat food or cream cheese ‘toothpaste’ with crackers.
Tickets start at $168 on Thursdays through Mondays, with family-friendly sessions on Sundays, and the exact location is revealed only 24 hours before the visit.
The Divorce Party at The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore
Adding a cheeky twist to Singapore’s immersive dining scene this November, Dream Academy’s “The Divorce Party” turns matrimonial misadventures into a theatrical feast.
Launching on 18 November at The Capitol Kempinski Hotel’s Atelier Ballroom, the experience follows the outrageously eccentric Choo Plastic family as they celebrate a family member’s divorce – complete with scandal, chaos, and piping-hot gossip served alongside a three-course dinner crafted by the hotel’s culinary team.
Local theatre veterans, including Sebastian Tan, Sharon Sum, and Andrew Marko, bring the family to life, while guests themselves are invited to step into the drama as part of the audience.
Tickets start at $148 for preview shows, $168 for off-peak, and $198 for peak performances, making it both a dinner and an interactive story that turns a night out into an unforgettable, laughter-filled spectacle.
Paddington Bear High Tea at SKAI
From 6 October to 31 December 2025, SKAI brings Paddington Bear’s adventures to life high above Singapore. Executive Chefs Seumas Smith and Yong Ming Choong transform his stories into playful savoury bites and whimsical desserts, from Orange Marmalade Sandwiches served from Paddington’s hat to Royal Hazelnut Praline suitcases and Citrus Basil Sorbet with Earl Grey Tea and Orange Pomelo Salsa.
Guests can pair the high tea with TWG teas, coffee, or non-alcoholic cocktails, or opt for a free-flow package with house wine and Pommery Champagne ($138++) or Prosecco ($58++). Sets start at $78++ per adult ($88++ with a takeaway jar of artisanal marmalade) and $39++ per child (6–12 years).
With panoramic city views and a London-themed photo op at Swissotel The Stamford’s lobby, this is a charming, storybook-perfect treat for families and friends alike.
If love is a journey, then these dining experiences are the map. From plunging down rabbit holes to soaring above the city, each destination promises thrills, stories, and memories that turn a simple date night into an expedition you’ll never forget.
