Trust style star Olivia Palermo to come up with a strikingly original yet fuss-free wedding “dress”. And the best part? Every single piece of her bridal look can be re-worn, well past her wedding day.

After dating for over six years, this stylish bride finally tied the knot with model-photographer Johannes Huebl, last weekend in Bedford, New York; and in a surprising three-piece outfit from Carolina Herrera no less.

At her cosy civil ceremony, Palermo chose to pair a cream sweater with a tulle skirt, in lieu of the usual bridal dress. A closer look shows that her wedding outfit even includes a pair of crisp white shorts, for ease of movement under that pretty tulle skirt.

Her choice of bridal shoe too, was a refreshing change from the usual nude pumps and lace heels. It’s just perfect for the outdoor wedding setting: Don’t you love the contrast of her deep blue Manolo Blahniks against that fresh green grass? Plus it fits the “something blue” wedding criteria too.

And yes, I’m all for this look, from the bare makeup, the loose ponytail to her re-wearable outfit. Besides being super easy and comfortable, it’s proof that you don’t need all the frills and poofy skirts to look this good on your big day.

It’s also a savvy and wallet-friendly idea and less reason to splurge on a dress that you’ll wear only once!
