JAY PARK IN SINGAPORE ON JANUARY 18, 2013 & RANIA HERE ON DECEMBER 4& 5, 2012
Sources have news of Jay Park coming to Singapore in January next year. It’s not for sure yet, nor do we know if it’s a solo concert or part of a larger showcase. Either way, we’re just happy there’s a high chance we may get to see the hottie with the body up close. Dates for rookie group’s RaNia showcase in Dec, on the other hand, have been confirmed, but not the event details

BTOB IN SINGAPORE FOR SUNDOWN FESTIVAL
K-Pop boyband BtoB who made a strong comeback with “Wow” (not gonna lie, the ‘90s-inspired beats and dance moves have got us hooked) is part of the lineup for this year’s Sundown Festival. Log on to https://www.facebook.com/mysundownfestival for more. The bummer? It’s on the same date as the 2NE1 concert in December. Speaking of which…

MAN CANDY OF THE WEEK
Won Bin schools all his hoobaes (younger colleagues) on how to look effortlessly chic and chiselled without even trying in this ad for clothing label Chris Christy. Go here for more of the Won Bin hotness.

Here’s SHINee’s Taemin looking glowy and hot in a tank top for marie claire 2 magazine.

Also, who knew FT Island’s leader Jong Hoon had such a hot body?!

And shocker, CNBlue’s Jung Shin cut off his lovely locks, but still looks hot. An observation: Doesn’t he kinda resemble hot Taiwanese singer Yoga Lin? Just, hotness everywhere.

WOMAN CANDY OF THE WEEK
Judging from the album photos released by Cube Entertainment, Hyun-A has gone for a grungy, sexy look this time for her October 22 comeback and we approve.

A-Pink’s sitting pretty in a spread for CeCi, while Kara’s Hara looks so darned cute in preppy collegiate outfits for Elle.

BLOCK B’S NILLILI MAMBO, AILEE’S I’LL SHOW YOU, MISSA’S I DON’T NEED A MAN
Zico and gang from Block B are back with a new album Blockbuster and its hard-hitting title track “Nillili Mambo”. The MV, shot with a Hong Kong triad movie vibe, is pretty sick, although we’re really not feeling Zico’s dreadlocked mullet. Talented songstress Ailee goes with a dance track this time, roping in MBLAQ’s G.O. for the classic nerdy girl-becomes-hot-and-snags-her-crush storyline.

And off their Destiny’s Child-inspired mini-album Independent Women Pt. 3, MissA declare happily they don’t need men to make them happy. Goo Hye Sun is an adorable woman, and this “music video” for her self-composed single “Marry Me” is just too awkward for words.

In Korea-Japan crossover news, Jang Geun Suk is an English dandy and a long-haired hippie in this inexplicable yet rather trippy video for Abracadabra, a track off his Japanese album “Just Crazy”.

TABLO SAYS ‘DON’T HATE ME’
The choice of YG celebs to feature in a bit as a lead-up to Epik High’s new album was no coincidence – Psy’s recent mega-popularity has earned him a fair share of drama while Seungri’s been in the doghouse for his scandals. And of course, the notorious Tajinyo controversy with Tablo which saw a whole bunch of anonymous keyboard warriors hating on the rapper for his educational background, making the message of “Don’t Hate Me”, a track off the group’s new album, even more poignant.

JAY PARK GETS A KISS FROM GO JOON HEE
It was a “gift” for the winner of the True Man segment on variety show Come To Play, and yes, we’re supremely jealous. Lucky girl. Check out the kiss and Jay’s hilarious reaction at 27:20.

AW MOMENTS OF THE WEEK
It was heartwarming to read that FT Island visited burn victim Tan Hui Linn at the hospital last month.

The 20 year-old, who suffered third-degree burns all over her body and lost the vision in her right eye after an acid attack by her father, listened to the group’s songs to get through tough times. In lighter news, Jaejoong tweeted this cute, smiley picture of him and his handsome group members in a candid moment pictured below.

HANGENG VOTED BEST ASIA ACT AT MTV EMAS
Oops. Hangeng, who has a thriving solo career in China, has trumped his former groupmates in the voting round for the MTV EMA’s Best Asia Act. He will now go on to compete with Australian Gotye to be the Asia Pacific representative in the Best Worldwide Act category.

JI HAE LEAVES GIRL’S DAY
Idol singer Ji Hae has announced she will be returning to her studies as a dance major as her leave of absence from school has expired. The rookie group will now go on with four members, and make a comeback on October 26.

CL IS JO JUNG SUK’S IDEAL TYPE

The man’s got good taste, evidently. The “Architecture 101” actor revealed on variety show Taxi that he even got BIGBANG’s Daesung, whom he starred with in “What’s Up” to get her autograph, saying he finds the 2NE1 leader charming.

And he’s currently single, so the universe should make this pair happen because it’d be pretty cute, doncha think?

LEE KWANG SOO BETRAYS YUNHO
Cassiopeians can look forward to some drama on Running Man. The Giraffe has confessed to betraying Yunho by pulling off his nametag when he least expected it (hint: Lee Kwang Soo is the “betrayer” of the group after all) and also caused Changmin to be eliminated. TVXQ has appeared on comedy sketch show Gag Concert as well, with surprisingly enough Cecilia Cheung, who looks absolutely gorgeous here.

MORE NON-KOREANS TRYING TO BE K-POP IDOLS
The K-Pop dream is going global – the Chosun Ilbo newspaper has an interesting article on how more non-Koreans are auditioning for a spot in Korean entertainment companies with more than half of those who showed up at a YG audition having “no ethnic link to Korea whatsoever”. Read more here.

KIM HYUNG JUN LAYS THE SMACKDOWN ON RUDE JUNIORS
Well, not exactly, but with K-Pop idols being so polite and all, this is still quite fierce. Bowing and showing respect to your seniors is a tradition in Korean culture and the SS501 members tweeted last week, “These days, I’ve been noticing that the dongsengs (juniors) have been slyly trying to avoid bowing. I was so mad today while at Mok-dong. Dongsengs, please don’t get caught in front of me again.” Wonder who it was that pissed him off?
