Victoria Beckham loves ‘juggling’ careerVictoria Beckham says managing her fashion empire is like “juggling glass balls”.

The fashion designer admitted that keeping her business going as well as looking after her four children – including her newborn baby Harper – can be a challenge.

Victoria confessed that her two worlds often overlap.

“There are quite a few video conferences at 5am with me in my dressing gown, holding baby,” she told WWD. “For me it’s no different than it is for a lot of women out there. It’s like juggling glass balls. I love it.”

The 37-year-old is delighted with the success of her eponymous label.

She has tried to keep progress slow, but was thrilled when her designs took off.

“Though I’m trying to take baby steps, the business is growing very quickly,” she explained. “Our turnover year-over-year has increased over 120 per cent. I think to anyone’s standards that’s very impressive.”

Her collection has been worn by a host of stars including as Eva Longoria, Demi Moore and Cheryl Cole. However, Victoria clearly remembers industry figures warning her that starting a new fashion label was difficult.

“When I was starting out I remember Marc Jacobs saying, ‘As long as the quality is great, then people can say it’s not their personal taste, but they can’t say that it’s rubbish,’” she laughed.

The brunette beauty believes that the secret behind her success is her own personal approval. Victoria insists that she doesn’t make a garment if she wouldn’t wear it.

“Everything that I make, from glasses to a handbag to a dress, is something I would wear and carry myself,’ she revealed.

“People ask who my customer is – I love to do in-store events with my retail partners, I love to meet my customers and get feedback – but I’m my customer.” © COVER MEDIA
