“I’ll curl my hair, definitely! I find that second-day hair holds curls better, so I wash my hair two days before my date. On the day itself, I spritz on dry shampoo, style my hair with a big curling iron to get bouncy curls, then loosen the curls by gently running my fingers through them. I skip hairspray because I like a more natural look.”
MAKEUP
“On date nights, I wear false lashes, lip gloss, a pink or coral blusher and a highlighter on my cheekbones. I find black liner too harsh, so I usually use a brown pencil liner to tight-line my eyes; this gives the illusion of thicker, fuller lashes too. To add a touch of glamour, I cut my falsies in half and stick them on the outer corners of my eyes, which makes them look bigger and more expressive. Also, I always do my makeup under good, neutral lighting. Once, I did my makeup under warm light and ended up walking out of the house with too much blusher and foundation – I looked like a clown!”

“I’m usually in a dress and heels, but I’ll always carry a pair of flats with me because I have a bad back. I also like to wear matching outfits with my date, so I’ll actually ask him what he’ll be wearing before I pick my outfit.”

“Henri Charpentier, a Japanese patisserie, at Dempsey Hill – it has lovely strawberry shortcakes.
The place is done up really nicely too; the decor is very romantic and French – perfect for a relaxing, casual date.”
