C-dramas are all the rage now, thanks to their compelling storylines, cinematic shots and of course, swoon-worthy cast members. Speaking of on-screen darlings, Song Weilong is definitely one of the faces to look out for this year.
The C-drama actor starred in Shine On Me, which landed on Netflix in December 2025. The 36-episode romance series was adapted from Chinese novelist Gu Man’s best-seller, Blazing Sunlight.
The drama follows Nie Xiguang (Zhao Jinmai), who has lost hope in love after a bittersweet secret crush in university. At work, she meets Lin Yusen (Song), who eventually convinces her to let go of her past and accept the love she’s long desired. Song and Zhao’s on-screen chemistry skyrocketed the drama’s popularity, making it one of the top 10 most-watched shows on Netflix across several regions, including Singapore.
It seems like it won’t be long before we get swept off our feet by Song again. The 27-year-old actor is starring in a new romance drama titled Love For You, and it is expected to be released in July 2026. The countdown is on, and we’re just as excited as you are!
Can’t wait to see this heartthrob back on your screen? We’ve rounded up some of the reasons we’re crushing on Song, so next time you bump into him (hey, you never know), you’ll be ready with fun facts and conversation starters.
He’s well loved by brands
Song’s popularity and stunning looks have earned him numerous partnerships with numerous prestigious brands worldwide. Some of the luxury labels he’s worked with so far include Gucci, Omega, Mikimoto and Guerlain. In January 2026, we got up close with Song who flew to Singapore for Mikimoto’s new boutique opening at Ngee Ann City.
He’s into cycling
What might a star do when there’s some free time? Based on his Instagram photo where he was spotted in a casual workout fit posing next to a bicycle, it looks like Song enjoys cycling as a workout.
He’s comical
Idols are typically known to always put on a polished and perfect image wherever they go. Such isn’t always the case for Song, who readily reveals his humorous side in reality shows and livestreams. A man who looks cool and keeps us amused? Boyfriend material.
He can dress up
Song is absolutely swimming in stylish threads. Whether he’s hitting up fashion shows, slaying campaign shoots, or just stepping out for a public appearance, he’s always dressed to the nines, looking every inch like a prince who’s walked out of a fairytale.
He can also dress down
When the cameras stop rolling, the star’s style philosophy seems to shift to “comfort first, fashion... maybe later?” Take his vacay in sunny Chiang Mai, Thailand, for example.
Netizens spotted Song embracing the true holiday spirit, rocking the ultimate sensible-chic ensemble: a crisp white singlet, black shorts, and a trusty pair of slippers. Because even A-listers know that when you’re off-duty, a wardrobe malfunction is far less serious than a wardrobe discomfort!
He’s an introvert
At first glance, Song might give off a chilly vibe, but he promises he’s just a classic ‘i’ for introvert. He mentioned in an interview that he’s actually quite lively once he’s had a little time to thaw out and get comfortable around people.
He beat all odds and came back stronger
You might not believe it but Song didn’t appear on screens for three years after his career peaked in 2020. It was rumoured that because of the dispute with his former management agency, his career was put on hiatus. Now, he’s back with more work that has successfully captured the hearts of audiences worldwide.
He’s tall
Standing at a statuesque 1.85m, it’s safe to say Song Weilong doesn’t just walk into a room, he arrives. Throw in his signature suave and it’s hard for many of his fans not to go weak in their knees when they see him.
