Sheila Sim's family just keeps getting bigger. On Tuesday (7 February), the 38-year-old model and actress disclosed the good news on social media, sharing photos of herself in the operating theatre with her husband Deon Woo and their newborn girl, Skyla.
Sim and Mr Woo, who is not from the entertainment industry, also have a two-year-old daughter, Layla.
“We are complete. Papa, mama and cheche (elder sister) love you already,” she wrote.
Sim added further details of Skyla, writing: “37 weeks, 2.7kg, 49cm.”
She revealed in August 2022 that she was expecting for the second time and had told the local media then that her expected due date would be in March 2023.
During her pregnancy, Sheila also shared more about her motherhood journey. In a post that was shared on Instagram, Sheila said, "So many people have been asking me if I'm ready for the arrival of #2.
When I dig deep, the answer really isn't as straightforward."
"Yes, I am. I've always wanted more than 1 child. I love being a mother. I am done this before, and I know I will be able to handle whatever comes along. Perhaps with a little more confidence this time, I may even enjoy it more than I did the first time around," she continued.
She also added, "No, I don't. Bcos I'm already missing Layla terribly. I can't help but feel like I'm no longer going to have that time that I did with her. I love our conversations every day. I love that we get each other's undivided attention throughout the day. I love our adventures together. I truly enjoy spending time with her, she makes me laugh! I feel like I've finally arrived at this sweet spot where I can balance my social life, marriage, work and sleep. Layla can even feed herself so well now, and I don't need to worry abt cooking her meals when we eat out."
Sheila mentioned that her second pregnancy was planned and she is likely to stop at two.
