Our favourite Red Carpet beauty looks from the Oscars 2017
See the head-turning Oscar 2017 hair and makeup looks from Emma Stone, Priyanka Chopra, Felicity Jones and more
By Alyssa Dhaliwal -
The Oscars is one of the most glamorous of nights, with press and public alike all waiting to see the red carpet arrivals. Consider these stunning hair and makeup looks all the inspiration you’ll need for any upcoming events this year, sans the professional hair and makeup artists. Oh how we wish we had a makeup artist to follow us around all the time *sighs*.
We’ve gathered 10 of our favourite looks of the night, from old Hollywood glamour to modern sleek locks and elegant makeup.
EMMA STONE
It was a big night for Emma Stone, who took home the Best Actress award (is anyone surprised?). The actress went full Hollywood allure with her La La Land inspired Givenchy Haute Couture dress, soft and shiny glamour curls, red lips and soft matte skin. The coppery eye makeup isn’t too overwhelming on her pale skin and complements her hair colour beautifully.
FELICITY JONES
One of our absolute favourites is this ultra soft and feminine look on the Star Wars Rogue One actress. It pairs perfectly with her beautiful Dior gown (scroll through the Instagram embed to see her whole outfit), and she looks every bit a modern day princess with her half-up hair, wispy lashes, defined eye line and natural blush.
TARAJI P. HENSON
The Empire star (and the latest face of MAC’s Viva Glam campaign) absolutely slayed it with this voluminous wavy and almost asymmetrical bob, paired with smoky eyes. Her entire ensemble is giving us some serious hair (and cleavage) envy.
EMMA ROBERTS
The starlet went full bombshell this year, embracing the red hair and lips in a sexier (and glowier) version of Emma Stone’s look. The artist responsible for this was of course the legendary Charlotte Tilbury. You can click on the Instagram embed to find out what products were used for this look, but her use of the Modern Matte Revolution Red Carpet Red lipstick was absolutely perfect.
CHRISSY TEIGEN
Glowy mama and Twitter maestro Chrissy looked fab while working the red carpet and being especially adorable with hubby John Legend (serious #couplegoals). We love the bronzed and nude tones used throughout her entire look, from her softly smoked-out eyes to her lips.
SOFIA CARSON
Young Disney actress Sofia Carson may not have been on our radar before today, but she is absolutely knocking it out of the park at her first Oscars. Full natural brows, feathery lashes and luscious red lips? She could very well be a modern day Snow White.
BRIE LARSON
Larson won her first Oscar last year for the movie Room and is back this year looking like a true red carpet veteran. Her hairdo is absolutely stunning with the waves mirroring the ruffles on her strapless velvet Oscar de la Renta gown. We love the soft glam makeup with the lightly contoured eyes, lashes, soft matte skin, and a bright orange-red lip.
KARLIE KLOSS
Orange is not a colour we see often on red carpets, and Karlie pulls it off with such ease. The monochromatic look is one of our favourite trends of the last year. She’s paired the warm radiant look with soft Hollywood waves that we absolutely love on lob (long bob) length hair.
JANELLE MONAE
We’re used to seeing this singer-songwriter in more masculine getups, but this slightly risque Elie Saab gown, headband and stunning makeup look is a lovely change. She’s got all the drama around her eyes with super feathery brows and va-va-voom lashes, paired with a neutral lip and cheeks.
PRIYANKA CHOPRA
Amidst all the curls and updos, Priyanka’s sleek straight hair was a breath of fresh air (not to mention a lot easier for us to achieve without the help of a professional) . Her look is absolutely effortless with her perfectly groomed brows and soft pink lips. She’s elegant and beautiful in this sexy Ralph & Russo number.
