In the past week, rumours about Kylie Jenner’s pregnancy flooded social media. Was is a publicity stunt engineered by mom-a-holic Kris Jenner or is it actually true? We’re still waiting on confirmation about that.

Then came the rumours of Khloe Kardashian’s pregnancy soon after. Whaaat??

Even we can’t decide whether or not the rumours are true, or if they’re just a scheme to get us to watch the upcoming season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians (we’re totally not). Ah! The frustration.

But now, we can at least confirm that one of the Kardashians is pregnant and it’s neither Kylie nor Khloe (for now).

It’s Kim Kardashian and Kanye West!

The couple, who tied the knot in 2014, confirmed reports that they were adding a third little bundle of joy to the mix, through a KUWTK trailer Kim uploaded on her Instagram just earlier today.

Nearer towards the end of the video, we hear Kim telling Khloe that she and Kanye were “having another baby”.

It’s been two years since Kim gave birth to her second child, Saint West, who’s turning 2 this December. Two years before that in 2013, she’d given birth to her firstborn, North West.

Kim publicly said on her blog, that both her pregnancies with North and Saint weren’t smooth ones, and that if she and Kanye were to have a third child they might go with surrogacy.

With her first child, North, Kim’s doctors had to induce labour as she had preeclampsia, a rare condition that results in high blood pressure and excessive protein in the urine.

It was very uncomfortable for Kim who experienced swelling on her face and body. Pregnant women who have this condition are also at risk of liver or renal failure, and may possibly develop cardiovascular issues in the long run.

Preeclampsia is resolved only after the pregnancy, so in Kim’s case, after giving birth to North. Even then, there was still a possibility of getting preeclampsia for future pregnancies.

But even after she gave birth to North she developed another complication – placenta accreta, a condition wherein the placenta doesn’t leave the body naturally as it is supposed to, because is too deeply embedded in the uterus lining.

This meant that after North was born, the doctors had to manually remove the placenta – an extremely uncomfortable process for the mother.

It also meant that the possibilities of conceiving again were low.

Happy Fathers Day

Therefore, their second child, Saint’s birth was quite a miracle – but it was no smooth sailing either. Besides experiencing placenta accreta once more, Kim’s doctors had to manually move the baby from breech position so that C-section wouldn’t be a necessity for the star.

With the third child reportedly on the way, there were also lots of hints dropped that Kim and Kanye hired a surrogate because of the complications with the past two pregnancies.

Whatever the case, we wish Kim and Kanye a smooth journey! And we can’t wait to find out what the little babe will be named.
