Natalie Portman looked like Orphan Annie with short locksNatalie Portman looked like “Orphan Annie” after shaving her head.

The stunning actress shaved her signature long locks for her role in 2005 thriller V for Vendetta. Portman has revealed styling her sheared tresses proved slightly difficult afterwards.

“It was awkward growing it out,” she told the British edition of InStyle magazine.

“I have very curly hair, so when my hair was short and I had to go to events, [my hairstylist] would use a tiny flat iron, instead of a regular one.”

“I couldn’t use it myself, so in my personal life, I just looked like Orphan Annie,” she joked.

The 31-year-old beauty hasn’t let the experience put her off changing her appearance for a role, insisting she would be willing to cut her hair again.

Portman prides herself on committing whole-heartedly to her film roles.

The brunette star undertook an intense exercise regime to portray her ballerina character Nina in Oscar-winning thriller Black Swan.

“For 12 months, I did five to eight hours a day of ballet, toning and swimming, plus, in the final months, three more hours a day of choreography. I really discovered my capabilities for strength, flexibility and endurance – and pain,” she revealed.
