On October 11, US First Lady Michelle Obama is hoping to break a Guinness World Record by recruiting at least 20,425 people to participate in jumping jacks, to smash a record set earlier this year. The event is part of her Let’s Move campaign against childhood obesity.

The First Lady is teaming up with National Geographic Kids to set a world record for the most people doing jumping jacks over the course of a 24-hour period.

On Tuesday, Guinness officials will head to the White House to judge while Obama does a minute of jumping jacks along with hundreds of Washington DC school children on the South Lawn.

The event aims to draw participants from all over the world, and official jump event locations, rules and other information can be found on the National Geographic Kids‘ Let’s Jump! website. To get involved, you’ll need to jump between 3 pm ET October 11 and 3 pm ET October 12. — AFP RELAXNEWS
