Oscar-winning actress Halle Berry is teaming up with the New York City-based designer Michael Kors to help promote his ‘Watch Hunger Stop’ campaign.
Working with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), Michael Kors announced this January that he would be releasing two new versions of his Runway watch (a small model for US$295), with proceeds going to help feed hungry families as part of the Watch Hunger Stop campaign.
The designer has now been joined by Hollywood star Halle Berry who “brings talent, energy, generosity, and of course star power to a cause that is extremely important to me,” Kors told WWD.

A sum of US$25 from every one of the ‘100 Series’ watches sold will help to provide 100 free meals to people in need.
Berry is excited by the idea of empowering women in developing countries.
“WFP is especially focused on providing assistance to women because, as mothers, teachers, and entrepreneurs, they will improve the future for their families and communities,” says the star.
“It’s an effort I’m eager to be a part of because I’m certain we can make a real and substantial difference in the lives of people in need,” added Berry.
The watches will launch in Michael Kors stores and online this month, and the two stars are said to be planning a trip to see the World Food Programme’s activities in action.
The Michael Kors Watch Hunger Stop watches retail at US$295 (approximately S$365.07) each. Pre-order the watch now at the www.michaelkors.com.
