What happens when three female rappers come together? Well, you can expect a new explosive track from Masia One, Supa Moji and General Ling, backed by C.O.W. 牛’s beat-driven production. In this new track, their feisty personalities are reflected in the hypnotic, collaborative track named after Singaporean up-and-coming artiste, General Ling, also known as E0-E-Ling.

The four-minute bilingual song is a tribute to the latter, who has transformed from a bright-eyed ingenue to a respected artist – despite criticisms and being underestimated by others.

The song delves deep into the themes of empowerment, strength, emotions and transformation – an anthem that calls for all the “Da Jie” (big sister) in the world to unite. “When a song has a strong vibe like this, you can feel the emotions through the flow and frequency of the song,” Masia One says.

“Big sister, we need you to save us,” Masia One chants repeatedly in Mandarin, calling out to the inner “General Ling” inside us all, and that we need to seek her out in order to find strength and balance in turbulent times.  “I realised later on that we must all be our own Dajie. We must learn to take care of ourselves,” she says.

Masia One (MAS1A), whose real name is Masia Lim, was born in Singapore and raised in Canada. In 2003, she became the first female rapper to be nominated for Best Rap Video in the MuchMusic Video Awards.

General Ling is now out on all major streaming platforms – Spotify, iTunes & Amazon at $0.99 USD. Unlimited streaming is also available via the free Bandcamp app, plus high-quality download in MP3, FLAC and more. Digital track is available on Bandcamp for $1.50 EU.
