Wang Leehom's ex Li Jinglei launches podcast, prompts singer to say there’s no “winning” the lawsuit
Looks like the ex-couple just cannot keep things amicable
Looks like the Wang Leehom and Li Jinglei saga isn’t quite over yet.
Li Jinglei has recently launched a podcast called "Calm Quiet Time," which is ironic because she’s using it to reveal details about the lawsuits between the ex-couple in New York and Taiwan.
On her podcast, Jinglei shared her experiences during the challenging period when the lawsuits were ongoing in the United States and Taiwan. She described the emotions she felt upon learning about the “success” of the US lawsuit, saying, "I was very emotional and needed to cry and scream. At that time, it felt like my soul had left my body and gone to the toilet. I desperately needed to release my emotions and cry out loud."
Wait, what lawsuits?
Earlier this year, Leehom took Jinglei to court in New York, alleging that she had violated their custody agreement by preventing him from seeing their children.
In a statement from Leehom's lawyer, it was clarified that the New York lawsuit is based on jurisdiction, and a part of the case has been transferred back to the Taiwanese court system. The status of the Taiwan lawsuit remains unclear, as both parties declined to discuss the case when spotted at the Taipei District Court in May.
Wang Leehom responds
Understandably, Jinglei's podcast content has angered Leehom, who responded to her claim of "winning the lawsuit" through his lawyer. He emphasised that there is no such thing as "winning the lawsuit" and stated, "The law is about facts, not feelings."
He further highlighted that the notion of victory in the US lawsuit was due to jurisdiction, and there is no determination of victory in the Taiwanese trial. Wang Leehom's lawyer expressed hope that Jinglei would abide by the ruling of the Taiwanese court and ensure a smooth enforcement process.
The ongoing dispute between Wang Leehom and Li Jinglei resurfaced when Wang made his comeback in Las Vegas earlier this year. The release of his new song, "Meet Me If You Want," reignited tensions between the ex-couple, leading to a back-and-forth exchange. Amidst this, Li Jinglei surprised her followers by announcing the launch of her podcast channel.
