She drew the loudest screams when she showed up and fans shouted her name repeatedly to catch her attention.

Looking pretty in a black dress, K-pop idol Jessica Jung waved and smiled to her fans before making her way to the photo wall for pictures.

The former Girls’ Generation member was in town for the grand opening of Valentino’s new boutique at Marina Bay Sands yesterday.

It was a star-studded affair – Hong Kong A-list actresses Charmaine Sheh and Linda Chung as well as Cantopop singer Pakho Chau were also in attendance.

But most of the 300 fans who stood patiently behind the barricades to catch a glimpse of their idols saved their loudest cheers for Jung.

Updating the local media of her plans for the year, the 26-year-old said in fluent English: “I’m working on my album and there’s going to be a lot of different styles. I’m really excited to share it with my fans.”

“We’re debating if we’re going to release an English or Korean album, but we’re working on both. I’m participating in the writing of the songs as well.”

She added: “I recently finished acting in a Chinese movie with (Hong Kong actor) William Chan. It was fun, so I might do more of that.”

The K-pop star is not the only one with a hectic schedule this year.

Sheh, 40, is busy shooting the movie adaptation of popular Hong Kong crime drama Line Walker, starring opposite actor Louis Koo.

In one scene, she has to wear a bikini.

She laughed and said: “We haven’t filmed that scene yet, but yes, it’ll be a little sexy. It’s a comedic scene though, so I’m looking forward to it.

As the movie will involve action scenes, Sheh is training her body to prevent recurring injuries that she sustained from filming the drama.

She said: “I’ll also use a body double for the movie.”

Speaking of sexy, Chung drew eyeballs at the recent TVB Anniversary Awards with a see-through gown.

It was a departure from her usual girl-next-door image.

When asked about it, the 31-year-old said: “I remember that day. Right after I wore that dress, literally everyone was, like, ‘Linda you are finally growing up, you are a big girl now’.

“I thought for me, the most important thing is to look beautiful. It’s an award show, as long as the dress looks elegant and it’s beautiful, I’ll wear it.”

“I’m sure when I need to be sexy, I can. When I need to be innocent or cute and bubbly, I can. Everyone has that side, it depends on how they show it,” she said.
