However, Jam Hsiao's agency wasted no time in debunking these rumours, stating that netizens had maliciously interpreted the video and were spreading untruths.
Taking a strong stance against the false allegations, Jam Hsiao's agency issued a statement from Guantao Law Firm, threatening legal action against the original Douyin user who made the accusation. The statement also named eight other Douyin users, warning them to delete the infringing content immediately.
The statement also asserted that Jam Hsiao will take legal action against internet users who persist in sharing content that defames his reputation.
Additionally, Jam Hsiao has also addressed the situation, urging people to “think critically” and “stop spreading rumours”, adding that jokes should be “kept within limits”.
As the events unfolded online, some Internet users pointed out that Jam Hsiao was in Nanjing for work when a thunderstorm struck the city, leading to speculation that the singer may have fallen ill due to the adverse weather conditions.
Perhaps his unusual walk on the red carpet can be attributed to a stuffy nose and the effects of drowsy cold medication?
