Lesson #1: Best friends celebrate each other’s birthday

1/10

Obvious, right? If you can’t even remember your bestie’s birthday, then what sort of friend are you (answer: a lousy one lor)?

Our Ah Jie Fann Wong threw a celebratory dinner for her ex-colleague and former actress Jacelyn Tay back in June. May we just add that the two yummy mummies look sooo gorgeous? It’s as though they haven’t aged at all!

Lesson #2: Colleagues CAN become #BFFs

2/10

If you think it’s impossible to forge friendships in the office, think again. The King and Queen of local television scene — Chen Han Wei and Zoe Tay — are perfect examples of how colleagues can turn into besties.

And of course, besties who’re unafraid to pose silly selfies together, stay together. In case you can’t take our eyes off those stylish sunnies on Zoe and Han Wei, we’ve got some recommendations here.

Lesson #3: Friends do inspire you

3/10

On the days when you’re feeling uninspired, you may find yourself turning to your bestie for advice or to point you in the right direction.

Rebecca (whose style we adore) finds her source of motivation from former host-slash-actress Sharon Au. She wrote on her Instagram: “So much love and admiration for [Sharon]. Thank you for being an inspiration.” Awww...

Lesson #4: Friends play (harmless) pranks on each other

4/10

Why are they smiling so widely? Well, according to Joanne’s Instagram caption, she and Romeo were supposed to help take a group photo.

But the playful duo decided to turn the lenses to themselves to take a selfie instead. Very well-played we say!

Lesson #5: Friends go on ‘dates’

5/10

Actor and durian lover Elvin Ng was out on a “romantic durian date” in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with actress Dawn Yeoh.

Judging from their facial expressions, it seems like one of them loves the king of fruits more than the other.

Lesson #6: Friends act as your support pillars

6/10

Xiao S, who was in town recently, was touring to promote her film in the last couple of months.

And her #bffs, host Aya Liu and singer Christine Fan showed their support by gracing one of the premieres together with Xiao S. Now that’s what friends are for!

Lesson #7: Friends aren’t afraid to show their ‘true colours’

7/10

Are you the sort of person who swings from serious to silly at the drop of a hat?

Some may call this split personality but true friends understand that there needs to be fun in everybody's life. Cue goofy portrait by Jayley and Carrie.

Lesson #8: Friends can get you to do the things that you’ll never do

8/10

Perhaps you’ve been a fan of floral dresses; maybe you don’t like white sneakers (why?!). Whatever you’re uncomfortable with, your bestie can coax you out of it (if they try really hard).

For Jade (we recently raided her closet), she admitted that she’d been “suckered” into wearing a Despicable Me paper hat by fellow host Shu An. We think it looks super adorable on both of them!

Lesson #9: Besties can go #bareface in front of each other

9/10

Whether you’re travelling or enjoying a staycay with your bestie, going bare face is inevitable when you’re sharing a room with him or her.

Homegrown model and actress Sheila shares some #MeTime with her two besties (beauty gurus Clarence Lee and John Lee) by putting their ‘Panda faces’ on.

Lesson #10: Friends try bold makeup together

10/10

Besides masking, besties can also try on daring makeup trends together. Case in point: Roz and Jemma.

The Hype Hunt hosts, known for their happy and hilarious demeanour on the online show, never shy away from trying out whatever’s trending — including the bold lippies that they wore in the photo here.

And they’re totally rocking it!
