Sometimes we tend to forget that our favourite celebrities have lives away from the spotlight. They can’t be acting, singing or dancing all the time, otherwise they will burn out.
Just like the rest of us, celebrities need their downtime too, from which many of them develop and take up interesting activities like Thai boxing and circuit training. Contrary to what you might think, these celebrity pastimes aren’t always extravagant and out of reach, there are things that you and I can enjoy without emptying our bank accounts in the process.

Surprise, surprise – Mandopop sensation, Jolin Tsai, isn’t just adept at singing and dancing. She’s also a devoted cake decorator. In fact, she is so good at her craft, she even made a cake shaped like an Egyptian sarcophagus for Hollywood actor Tom Cruise when he made a stop in Taiwan to promote his film, The Mummy.
It appears that the devoted cake decorator also has a wicked sense of humour, Jolin posted this Instagram snap of her posing with a cake fit for a bachelorette party with the cheeky caption, “hot boyfriend Hrmm mm…”.

It is not an exaggeration to say that Nathan Hartono is an all-rounder. If you’ve been following the crooner on social media, you would know that he is also quite the fitness enthusiast.
Recently, the chiseled heartthrob has been keeping himself fit through circuit training workouts. The workouts are clearly paying off – just look at that sculpted body. Nathan shared this sizzling shot on the gram and wrote this playful caption, “rarely ever post things like this but i've been putting in the work and i'm proud of it, so lemme have my moment of social media vanity”.

It seems like Jolin Tsai isn’t the only baker here. The Mediacorp actress doesn’t really post food pictures for the gram but when she does, she gives us a glimpse into her cooking projects (appropriately hashtagged #LetsCookAndBakeWithJT). In this snap, Julie showed off her fresh out of the oven creations with the caption, “New found love”.

Local singer JJ Lin is a cultured guy. He was even appointed art ambassador by the National Gallery in 2015. When he is not writing songs or performing, the 36-year-old is busy amassing his figurine collection and immersing himself in art at a museum. He shared this photo of his time at the Yuz Museum in Shanghai on Instagram and captioned it, “Art day”.

Sometimes all you want to do is to curl up with a good book and a nice cup of tea, or in this case, bubble tea. In this photo, Carrie has her head buried in a book and a cup of bubble tea in another.
We’re not sure how Carrie gets the time to read all of these books, but we sure applaud her for this. In case you’re wondering how the actress likes her bubble tea - she opts for milk tea with 50% sugar and no toppings.

It is no secret that travelling broadens your mind and horizons. When you’re doing it alone, travelling helps you with to discover more about yourself and pick up useful skills for your career and personal life. Media personality Rozz’s Instagram account is laced with photos from her travels.
The host took to Instagram to share photos of her recent trip to Tokyo. She posted a picture of her standing in front of the sensō-ji temple with the tongue-in-cheek caption, “this is my first time at the sensō-ji temple. super crowded cuz its a public holiday. there were a lot of people throwing money into a pit as they pray to their god. issit because prayers wont be answered unless they’re paid for?”.
