While sobbing away (she’s obviously a very sentimental girl) during the Dragon TV show’s ending on Sunday, Hannah, 21, said: “I’m here to say goodbye to everyone because on the 18th of this month, I will do a very important thing, and this is a live show so, in fairness, I have decided to quit the contest.”

Since the show runs on Sundays, and Jay’s 36th birthday (the target date for him to get married) will be on a Sunday, Hannah and the Dancing With the Stars production team decided that she’d quit since the marriage would see her off-air for at least two weeks.

“I don’t want to go. I haven’t finished learning cha-cha and paso doble. I’m having my last dance and I don’t want to dance because after I dance, it will be over,” Hannah said appearing very reluctant to leave the show she started only in December. Still, according to a report by NetEase, the producers said she might return for some sort of “special appearance” at the end of show.

Hannah and Jay’s wedding plans are already underway with reports that there will be two ceremonies ‒ one in Europe and one in Taipei since Jay’s 90-year-old maternal grandmother can’t travel. She apparently approves of the Taiwanese-Australian model Jay’s bringing into the family.

The TV show’s audience didn’t seem too upset about Hannah’s departure however, chanting “Chou Chou, Hannah, Aiyo, Not Bad,” after her announcement. Apparently “Chou Chou” is her nickname of the Taiwanese pop king and “Aiyo, not bad” is both his catchphrase and the name of his latest best-selling album.

While many a female fan will be weeping and wailing on January 18, it seems the rest of the world is taking Jay’s marriage in its stride.
