The Korean thriller Cold Eyes is a remake of the acclaimed Hong Kong flick Eye In The Sky (2007). And while the new cast watched the original, they also wanted to put their own spin on the characters.

Korean actress Han Hyo Joo, who is better known for her TV dramas and romantic films, talks about the challenges in taking on her first action flick in crime thriller Cold Eyes. She was in Singapore to promote the film, which co-stars Jung Woo Sung.

Actor Jung Woo Sung’s character James is the villain of the piece, while Han Hyo Joo, 26, plays a rookie member of a surveillance team, and boyband 2PM’s Lee Jun Ho, 23, is a fellow team member.

For Han, it was also about making the character her own. She says: “I didn’t really try to force myself into a character in the original film.”
