Frida Giannini has given birth to a little girl.
The creative director of Gucci and her partner Patrizio di Marco welcomed the new arrival into the world on March 2.
The couple are yet to release many details about their daughter, although it has been confirmed she is called Greta.
“Both mother and baby are doing well,” a spokesperson for the fashion house said.
Frida was present at the label’s Fall/Winter 13 presentation at Milan Fashion Week last month. She took a bow after the collection was sent down the runway and then immediately went on maternity leave.
It’s thought she will be back to promote the company’s menswear line in June.
Patrizio is the president and chief executive officer of the exclusive fashion label.
The couple confirmed they were dating in October 2011, explaining they became romantically involved two years before. Both were nervous about discussing their relationship with employees, before realising it didn’t have to affect their work.
“You don’t want to leave the door open for any criticism,” Frida said at the time. “There was transparency, but it was not universal; it was logical. Now there will be more. But that doesn’t mean that Patrizio and I will start to kiss in a meeting.”
