Whoo-boy, this comical little caper is practically begging to be immortalised as an online meme, complete with pony-related puns.
Here’s what went down. Steamy shots from the “Lady of the Dynasty” set have been leaked depicting what appears to be Fan Binbing enmeshed in an erotic embrace with Leon Lai – with the two lovers straddling a horse, no less.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, these provocative photos of the silver-screen stars horsing around (so to speak) have “stirruped” the emotions of not a few Chinese netizens, with some pearl-clutching Weibo users whinnying that the scene be snipped from the final cut of the film.
My Paper reports that trollish “neigh-sayers” have even wondered if the combined weight of the cavorting celebrities might have harmed the horse at the centre of this scandalous “sandwich”.
And in an indication that the situation has well and truly galloped out of control, some Weibo users have resorted to grilling Bingbing’s strapping stallion of a swain Li Chen for his thoughts on this matter of “mane” importance.
Here’s the razor-sharp rejoinder, straight from the horse’s mouth: “Who is ‘ma zhen’?” (Sidebar for those not versed in Mandarin wordplay: Li Chen’s riposte riffs off the Mandarin homonym for “horse sex”.)
We won’t link the vaguely NSFW pictures here – a cursory Google search should suffice in squelching your curiosity – but our sympathies rest firmly on the side of the bodacious Bingbing, who has reportedly retorted that “if your heart is dirty, whatever you watch will also be dirty.” Can’t quibble with that!
