The 27-year-old Taiwanese singer-songwriter has made a name for himself in the music scene. He rose to fame in 2014 when his self-composed single The Distance of Love for the Taiwanese drama The Way We Were hit 100 million views on YouTube, which made him the youngest Mandopop artist to have accomplished such a title at that time. And while he's charting new heights with his career, Eric Chou has also been making headlines when he announced that he got engaged to former news anchor, Dacie Chao

Dubbed “king of the lovelorn people” by the media, the singer took to Instagram to announce his engagement.

In his post, Eric is pictured together with his new fiance in a selfie, captioned "Forever and ever ❤️".

Dacie is six years his senior and is also seen in the photo with a large ring on her finger.

The two first started dating in 2019 before ending their relationship in October 2020. However, the lovebirds picked up where they left off in June 2021.

According to ET Today, Eric Chou's manager shared that the couple had previously reached a consensus that they would get married, and the proposal was a necessary "formality". It was also said that Eric "proposed to her on the balcony when they were on holiday in Europe".

His manager also mentioned that the two will also not be getting married this year as both of them are prioritising their respective careers for now.

Dacie, who is 33 this year, was formerly a news anchor for the Taiwanese cable television network Sanlih E-Television.
