Donatella Versace: I’m a tough momDonatella Versace is an “ultra-conservative” mother. The fashion designer’s daughter Allegra, 25, has followed in her mother’s footsteps by working in the industry.

Despite the glitz and glamour of their jobs, Donatella insisted the pair have a very normal mother-daughter relationship. The duo often share meals at home and talk about their days.

“Apart from that, we often meet at home. We have dinner, discussions, we laugh, we fight. Don’t imagine anything supernatural: I’m an ultra-conservative mother and a very protective mother,” the designer said.

Like her mom, Allegra, is a major shareholder in the Versace label. The 56-year-old admires her daughter’s ability to be able to cope with her heavy workload, which also includes working on her acting career and assisting other designers.

“My daughter, Allegra, is working at the board of directors, which is not always easy, especially with a mother as inconvenient as me. She’s also working for other designers: with Azzedine Alaïa, she was backstage and I was so proud,” Donatella told French Vogue.
