These celebs are our New Year #CoupleGoals

New year, stronger relationship? It’s time to move on from the rumour mill of 2019 which saw various unfavorable headlines on some of the couples on our lists. If there’s anything social media has proven, these relationships are still strong and prepared to weather the challenges together in 2020 or as we like to say #COUPLEGOALS. Scroll through the gallery for some heart-warming, jealousy-inducing romance – saccharine with a hint of bitterness, just the way we like it.

While we’re at it, here’s Caldecott’s other golden couple. Even if you’re not a fan of Channel 8 dramas, you would’ve seen this happy little family starring in iconic TV refrigerator commercials.

They have been married for 16 years, and we all know how strong their relationship is – who can forget when Pierre Png was the embodiment of romance and literally gave part of his organ to save her life? Their respective instagrams are flooded with gooey-sweet pictures of each other and their furbabies. 

This particular photo is captioned: “Happy 16th Wedding Anniversary to the both of us..! A few weeks after her high-profile breakup with radio DJ Bobby Tonelli in 2013, the Singaporean actress announced her relationship with Chinese actor Qi Yuwu. Another reel-life couple, they starred in seven TV dramas together before announcing their relationship. Today, they are happily married with two young children – a four-year-old daughter, and a two-year-old son. 

Joanne’s caption reads: “A new decade and so a new chapter begins for us — and while I’m not sure I’m all that ready for it, I’m glad that I have @qiyuwu with me to be my voice of reason and pillar of strength.”

Sorry everyone, the Crazy Rich Asians heartthrob is happily tied down. He tied the knot with the Taiwanese-Italian yoga instructor in 2016, five years after they first met at a party on New Year’s Day in Singapore. 

Henry’s picture is captioned: “What does our future hold? That I can’t be sure of, but one thing for certain is that it’s me and you against it all”. Too cute.

The mandopop king wed the Taiwanese-Australian actress-model in 2015, and since then, despite pressure from fans and haters alike, the couple has thrived. Today, they have had two lovely children – a four-year-old girl and a two-year-old boy. 

Hannah’s caption reads: “Thank you for always being there for me, hubby”. She even hashtagged “#besthubby”. Well, when your husband’s Jay Chou, you get to say that.

They made it into our #couplegoals list because… have you seen this beautiful couple? And who can possibly forget their extravagant $31M wedding in 2015? However, since then, there have been rumours swirling that the Chinese couple have split. To put these divorce speculations to rest, Angelababy took to Weibo on 13 Nov 2019 to wish Huang Xiaoming a happy birthday, to which he sweetly replied “Thank you wife” along with a heart and kissy face emojis. Take that, nay-sayers!

The Taiwanese actress-singer and the Chinese singer-songwriter have always been shy about their love, but the blissful Li Ronghao couldn’t contain his joy when he posted this selfie on Instagram. This sweet picture was snapped after Rainie Yang said yes to his proposal while they were vacationing on a beautiful island, with the accompanying caption: “Today is my 34th birthday. It’s also the anniversary of my wedding proposal. Thank you for saying yes.” They officially wed in September last year.

With so many high-profile Korean celeb couples calling it quits recently (read: Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo’s divorce less than two years after their fairytale wedding) (also read: Ahn Jae-hyun and Goo Hye-sun’s public and messy divorce saga), this is the one Hallyu couple that has remained strong and oh-so-sweet throughout the years. 

This photo was posted by Taeyang as a wedding announcement to his followers. Highlight of the long and heartfelt caption: “Today, I want to share with you guys about the most important and joyful promise I have made in my life. I have pledged to spend the rest of my life with Min Hyorin, the one who has always stuck by me for the past four years. Through all the good times and the bad times, she has always believed in me and now I look forward to making a beautiful life together.”

Tip: Whenever you’re in the mood for the feels, just watch Taeyang’s Eyes, Nose, Lips music video, which he admitted was written for her: “As with my previous song ‘Eyes, Nose, Lips,’ it’s impossible for my music to not be influenced by my girlfriend. To put it boldly, because she’s the person that I love the most, I think of her as my muse who gives me inspiration.”

While most of the couples in this lineup have been around awhile, this couple is fairly new – the Super Junior star and the TWICE starlet have just admitted to be dating. All Kpop love affairs are saucy to a certain extent, but this particular romance has raised a couple of eyebrows, owing to the fact that he is 36 and she is 23. Oh well, age is just a number, right?
