And just like that, we’re at the tail end of 2023. Before we bid this year farewell, let’s take a trip down memory lane to revisit some of the most memorable moments in our local showbiz. From wedding bells ringing to career new wins, these are some of the best moments of our local stars that happened this year.

Fann Wong stole the limelight at Star Awards 2024

It’s been a while since we last saw Fann snag an award at Star Awards. That’s why we were excited to see the superstar accept the Best Programme Host award on behalf of her hubby Christopher Lee at this year’s Star Awards ceremony. Not only did her daring backless Valentino gown catch our eyes, her funny and cute acceptance speech also made her appearance extra memorable.

Hong Ling and Nick Teo got hitched

Mediacorp actress Hong Ling married fellow actor Nick Teo whom she described as her “best friend” and a guy who’s “more emotional than me” on her Instagram. The wedding, held earlier this month at JW Marriott Singapore, saw celebrity guests including Elvin Ng, Chantalle Ng, Xu Bin, Tay Ying and more.

Rebecca Lim announced her pregnancy

Following her wedding in November 2022, Rebecca announced on her Instagram in September 2023 that she’s pregnant. Congratulations poured in in the comments section with celebrities and fans flooding the comments section with their well wishes. In November 2023, as Rebecca approached her third trimester, she shared an Instagram Reel that showed her family members and close friends’ reactions during her pregnancy reveal. Just like her fans, we can’t wait to meet her baby soon!

Henry Golding and Liv Lo Golding welcome their second child

In May, Crazy Rich Asian actor Henry Golding and wife Liv Lo Golding took to their Instagram to announce that they’re expecting second child. Fast forward to September, the duo welcomed their second daughter, Florence Golding.

Tabitha Nauser gave birth to #BabyAaliyah

This year is the year that Tabitha Nauser embarked on her motherhood journey. Together with her partner Louie Salmon-Pansuk, the Slow Down singer welcomed #BabyAaliyah in November. The trio most recently marked Christmas with their annual Christmas Day picture with the three of them rocking their festive fits.

Desmond Tan shares his wife’s pregnancy news

In October, Desmond Tan took to his Instagram to share a piece of good news. “Mrs Tan and I are welcoming a baby girl in 2024!” he wrote. More recently, the MediaCorp actor teased us with another Instagram post that marked his second wedding anniversary. In it, he could be seen smiling happily while holding on to his wife’s baby bump.

Julie Tan went bold for new movie

For her upcoming film Good Goodbye, Julie Tan — who plays a cancer-stricken role — took an extra bold move to shave her head. While some of us may find it hard to go for such a drastic transformation, it wasn’t a difficult decision for Julie. She wrote on her Instagram, “from the moment I decided to be an actor, I was already prepared for a moment like this.”

Hong Huifang to star in her first Taiwanese drama

Following the Golden Horse Best Leading Actress nomination for her role in Ajoomma in 2022, actress Hong Huifang continues to enjoy her career high, starring in her first Taiwanese drama series. Titled Breeze By The Sea, the drama — directed by Taiwanese-American actor and director Peter Ho — also stars Taiwanese actor Chen Bolin and homegrown actress Fann Wong.

Richie Koh bagged Best Actor at Star Awards 2023

Richie Koh’s intellectually disabled role in MediaCorp drama Your World In Mine won him the Best Actor award at this year’s Star Awards ceremony. The 30-year-old actor became the youngest winner of this award in 26 years, following Christopher Lee’s similar win in 1997 when he was 26 years old.
