Two award shows, too many misses, too few hits. But who were worse on the red carpet – actors or musicians? You decide.

First, here’s a look at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Awards ...

Tracy Emin: The Vivienne Westwood gown was wearing the British actress instead of the other way around; not attractive.

Meredith Ostrom: Otherwise known as one of the many ways to wear a sarong, this get-up would have been stunning at the beach but not on the red carpet.

Natascha McElhone: The actress channeled her desire to play the Evil Queen in upcoming adaptations of Snow White. Somebody offer her the role already!

J K Rowling (pictured with Emma Watson): Clearly, the Harry Potter author’s unflattering gown was a tribute to Lord Voldemort’s evil pet snake.

Meanwhile, over at the Grammy Awards…

Nicki Minaj: What was she thinking when she decided to go out dressed as a leopard? But then again, we don’t really want to know.

Hayley Williams: The lead singer of Paramore looked as though she was auditioning for a Burlesque dance group … for kids.

Lady Gaga: She was inside the giant egg, where she incubated until it hatched for her “Born This Way” performance. We already shudder to think how she is going top this red carpet style at the next award show.

Rihanna: We’re glad her hair colour no longer matches the colour of a fire engine, but this barely-there Jean Paul Gaultier gown is not for the red carpet. Or anywhere else, for that matter.

Ciara: OK, we get that many stars dig the tough warrior princess look, but this Emilio Pucci gown borders on the obscene.

Jennifer Lopez: “Look Marc, no pants!” JLo caught exclaiming to her hubby.

Adrienne Lau: Oh, for crying out loud, what happened to decency, you music people?

BEST DRESSED

Even though the misses at both award shows outshone the hits, there were a handful of gorgeous stars who deserve mentions.

Emma Watson (see J K Rowling) showed up in a beautiful nude-coloured Valentino Couture gown at the BAFTAs, while Jessica Alba glowed in a striking cornflower blue Versace number.

At the Grammys, Jennifer Hudson looked half her American Idol size but appeared healthy and absolutely amazing in her Versace gown.

Another head-turner (for the right reasons) was Glee starlet Dianna Agron, who ditched her girl-next-door sweetness for a winning edgy look.
