For her second movie, Unbroken, Angelina Jolie will adapt a best-selling book by Laura Hillenbrand, Universal announced.

After In the Land of Blood and Honey, about the war in Bosnia, Jolie will direct a movie about Air Force lieutenant Louis Zamperini, who survived on a raft for 47 days after a plane crash over the Pacific Ocean in 1942.

The Olympic athlete turned war veteran was then captured by the Japanese and kept in a POW camp until August 1945.

Richard LaGravenese (The Bridges of Madison County) and William Nicholson (Les Misérables) contributed to the script.

Angelina Jolie has just finished shooting Maleficent, which will tell the story of Sleeping Beauty from the point of view of the princess’s nemisis. The Disney movie will hit the big screen in March 2014. — AFP RELAXNEWS
