The tumultuous saga of Singaporean actor Aliff Aziz and Malaysian singer-actress Bella Astillah has taken yet another dramatic turn as Bella accuses her husband of infidelity, claiming he cheated on her 11 times, including once with her own sister, Eriqa.
The couple, who has been facing marital issues over the past few years, appeared at the Federal Territories Syariah Lower Court on April 4. Aliff, 33, expressed his reluctance to agree to a divorce, stating he still loves his wife and their two children aged seven and four. Despite his declaration, the court ordered them to appoint a conciliatory committee, postponing the divorce case until June 4 due to the lack of agreement between the two parties.
Bella, whose real name is Dayang Ara Nabellah Awang Astillah, expressed her shock at Aliff's decision, stating she felt exhausted by the ongoing situation. She revealed her fear of divorce, emphasising her efforts to salvage their marriage over the years. Bella had filed for divorce for the second time on March 11, citing irreconcilable differences. Their first divorce occurred in 2019 following accusations of infidelity on Aliff's part, but they reconciled in 2020.
The recent development in their marital strife came shortly after Aliff and Malaysian actress Ruhainies were arrested by the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Department (Jawi) on suspicion of khalwat (close proximity).
In an interview with Malaysian media on April 3, Bella made shocking allegations against her husband, claiming he had lost feelings for her and intended to divorce her in February this year. She further accused Aliff of engaging in extramarital affairs a staggering 11 times, even alleging an affair with her younger sister, Eriqa.
Bella recounted her suspicions about the affair during an Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca in 2022 when she discovered messages exchanged between Aliff and Eriqa. She tearfully confessed to disowning her sister as a result of the betrayal but expressed regret over her decision.
“Because I loved Aliff so much, I disowned my sister. I never told anyone about this matter, but it needs to be revealed,” she said.
She added: “Disowning my sister but not Aliff was my biggest mistake and I regret it.”
The revelation follows a recent disclosure by a TikTok user, @edisiumat, who claimed Bella had been involved with Malaysian actor Muaz Zabir since October 2023. Following the claims, Bella admitted to the relationship, explaining she sought to incite jealousy in Aliff after his alleged infidelities with other women. However, she clarified that they had reconciled afterwards.
According to Bella, despite efforts to fix their relationship, Aliff's behaviour continued to go downhill, particularly during the filming of his new drama "Terjerat" with co-star Ruhainies.
In an interview, Bella mentioned that she has been friends with Ruhainies for many years and she was taken aback when she found out that Aliff had been meeting up with Ruhainies when Bella was tracking him on the GPS that was installed in his car that she gave. She also mentioned in the interview that she placed a recorder in the car to listen to the conversations that Aliff had with Ruhainies in his car.
As the case unfolds, the truth behind Bella's accusations and the future of their marriage remains uncertain.
