The time of Ramadan is here again, and if you’re fasting or have friends who are doing so, you’ll want to have plenty of halal options to break fast at during this month—or perhaps even to share a meal with loved ones at any time of year.

Iftar is the evening meal that Muslims partake in as they end their daily fast during Ramadan, and there are several restaurants in Singapore that offer special Iftar offerings during this time. Ahead, we round up places from a variety of cuisines to break fast at for all flavour palates.

For those who love fusion cuisine:

1. The Halia

Nestled within the Singapore Botanic Gardens’ Ginger Garden is The Halia, which serves up a medley of modern European cuisine with Asian influences. Get a table at the al fresco area to fully enjoy the surrounding tropical greenery, or marvel at the stunning views through the full-length glass windows from the dining room. Bring your friends and family here during Ramadan to enjoy the indulgent communal feast menu featuring a selection of curated dishes, such as wagyu beef rendang and the restaurant’s signature chilli crab spaghettini.

2. Summer Folks Cafe

Having opened their doors less than a year ago is Summer Folks Cafe, which doubles up as a cafe by day and steakhouse in the evening. This Ramadan season, it has launched a new Iftar set menu fit for two to four people, which includes starters, a platter, drinks and dessert. Highlights from the exclusive set menu include Asian-style beef soup, prawn fritters, and a pilaf rice platter.

3. The White Label

The White Label is a halal French-Malayan restaurant helmed by Chef Nelson, who has specialised in French cuisine for over 28 years. Opt from mains such as the beef wellington (back for a limited time only), lamb rack or duck confit. Finish your meal with mouthwatering desserts such as the Durian Flan or Pandan Crème Brûlée for a local twist.

4. Sushi Airways

Sushi Airways is a Japanese restaurant with a creative aircraft theme. Other than favourites like Ebi Maki and the signature Soft Shell Crab Salad, it also offers seasonal omakase. In case you’re feeling indulgent for Iftar, they have offerings such as Grilled Lobster with Sea Urchin sauce and Saltwater Eel.

5. Mukshidonna

One for the comfort-food enthusiasts, Mukshidonna is a Korean establishment that offers customisable army stews that can be easily shared between larger groups. Recommended toppings include mala chicken, ramyeon, and mozzarella cheese for a peak-rainy day “buka puasa”.

6. Taiwan Culture

The newest addition to the list is Taiwan Culture, having joined the halal food scene in July 2024. The eatery serves up Taiwan classics ranging from chicken xiao long bao to A3 wagyu beef la mian. This Ramadan, the restaurant is offering a special Taiwanese Buffet with over 30 dishes available, guaranteed to have diners feeling spoilt for choice. Located at Terminal 2 of Changi Airport, the eatery is open 24 hours so diners can even have their pre-dawn meal.

7. Jing Hotpot

It can be tricky to find halal hotpot in Singapore, but Jing Hotpot caters to diners who want both the option of drinking soup and having barbecued meat. House-made soups include Creamy Herbal Chicken, Signature Mala and Savoury Tomato, while the selection of barbecue meats ranges from satay chicken to a medley of shabu shabu meats. 8. Restaurant Aisyah

Specialising in Xinjiang cuisine, Restauraunt Aisyah’s speciality noodle dishes are fully customisable: choose from authentic hand-pulled noodles that come in four different shapes (normal, fine, knife-cut or hand-torn), and three types of Northwestern China-inspired broths ranging from mild to spicy. If you’re craving authentic Malay cuisine, head down to Harummanis Restaraunt. With locations in both Dubai and Singapore, Chef Akmal Anuar aims to reintroduce modern Malay cuisine to different communities.
