It’s been a while since we had anything new on the airwaves, and by a while, we really mean 20 years.

Singapore’s all-new radio station, Kiss 92, the first one in 20 years, will go on air September 3, 2012.

The name of the new station under SPH Unionworks, is interesting, to say the least, as it reflects the target group that they’re hope to attract: women in the 30-50 age group.

According to Ms Goh Wee Wang, General Manager of SPH Unionworks, “As a female-centric station, the music will be specifically tailored to the target audience’s tastes, with familiar tunes that listeners can hum and sing along to, and only the best new music. The shows will be full of energy, fun, and loads of great songs to keep listeners entertained at all times.”

Familiar voices will helm the airways, as Maddy Barber will be crossing over from sister station 91.3 to headline the Morning Drive Time show from 6am – 10am daily, together with The New Paper’s Movie Guy Jason Johnson and popular news man, Arnold Gay.

Other familiar voices include stalwart Jeremy Ratnam who will helm the Evening Drive Time (4-8pm), jazz diva Claressa Monteiro who will be with you through lunch (10am-2pm) and even Hollywood’s very own Ryan Seacrest, sharing the latest music and entertainment news and gossip with his show, On Air with Ryan Seacrest on weeknights from 8pm till midnight.

The station promises to bring you all the great songs in one place, plus experts who will share their knowledge on travel, food, relationships, family matters, shopping, health and wellness, fashion and beauty and more.

Listeners also get exclusive offers and discounts through the Kiss 92 Mobile App, allowing them to take part in signature events and even influence the playlists.

In addition, sister stations 91.3 and 100.3 will both be undergoing a face-lift with new names and logos!

91.3 will be now be known as HOT FM 91.3, to showcase itself as the station with the hottest music, artistes, contests and entertainment. Rod Monteiro and the Married Men will also be headlining Singapore’s Hottest morning show.

One the other hand, Radio 100.3 will be now be known as UFM 100.3 , and will be presenting you the most interesting content along with your favourite music.

Don’t forget to tune in and keep a ear out for these great changes.
