Jam out in the morning

2/11

This is our go-to method to feel all pumped up and ready to face the day #likeaboss. When you’re getting ready in the morning, blast some empowering and uplifting songs like Fight Song and Believer. Grooving to the beat and singing along (hey, no one’s watching you) will get you going and feeling like a superstar for the rest of the day.

Dress up

3/11

Take pride in dressing yourself up because you’re worth it. When you look good, you feel good, and something as simple as popping your favourite red lippie does wonders in boosting your morale. A word of caution, though: That’s not to say your self-confidence should always be tied to your looks.

Look straight

4/11

This one’s for you if you feel nervous walking in public and are afraid of being stared at. Don’t look at the floor – keep your head high and just look straight to avoid making eye contact with strangers. As time goes by, you’ll realise people are not actually looking at you, and even so, most of the time, they don’t mean harm. You do you, girl.

Kill negative thoughts

5/11

We can subconsciously get trapped in a vicious cycle of negativity and let thoughts like “I can’t do this” consume us. Replace each negative thought with a positive one – just a slight change from “can’t” to “can” will alter your outlook in the long run. It does take a bit of determination to stamp out those pessimistic thoughts, but it’s well worth it, we promise.

Take deep breaths

6/11

Sometimes, when you want a burst of confidence, all you have to do is take a few deep breaths with your eyes closed. Focus on your breathing and rid your mind of worries and fears. Once you’ve calmed yourself down and achieved a clear state of mind, it’ll be a tad easier to carry yourself with confidence. Extra dose of energy to soldier on, checked.

Stop procrastinating

7/11

We know, the struggle to face that seemingly insurmountable problem is real. So real. But guess what? Finishing your difficult tasks first will give you an incredible confidence boost. What needs to be done needs to be done, so get into the thick of things the moment you reach your office in the morning, and get the difficult tasks out of the way – you’ll feel extremely accomplished. Time to stop worrying and just do it, in the words of our favourite sports brand.

Posture

8/11

Something as small as squaring your shoulders and maintaining a good posture can instantly make you feel more assured and confident. When you slouch and don’t stand up straight, you’ll feel small and sluggish, which is just bad news for your self-image.

Be kind

9/11

A little kindness makes the world go round. Let’s stop judging other people – gossiping about other people’s dressing and looks is definitely not a healthy way to make yourself feel better. Instead, we can be generous with compliments to lift each other up. You’ll make that person’s day so much better, and in turn feel great about yourself for making that bit of difference in someone’s life.

Smile

10/11

Cheesy as it may sound, go on and flash your pearly whites! Smiling has a contagious effect, and increases the odds of feeling positive about yourself. A simple smile can help reduce stress and pave the way for more relaxed feelings, which we’ll never say no to. Start your day on the right note by smiling into your mirror, and don’t forget to smile at the people around you to spread good vibes.

Set and achieve small goals

11/11

We thrive on the satisfaction of achieving our goals – create small milestones so you can feel like a warrior when you strike off your checklist. What’s important is to set realistic goals that matter to you, because everyone is different. They can be anything from brisk-walking every evening to reading 50 pages of your novel per week. This will give you a discipline and momentum to keep achieving what you set out to do, great for building an unwavering confidence in yourself.
