Rebecca “Becky” Patricia Armstrong, is a woman of many talents. From acting and singing to modelling, she’s got it all under her belt. Since her acting career began in 2020, the actress has played a diverse selection of roles, making a name for herself within the entertainment industry alongside her peer and fellow May 2024 cover star, Freen Sarocha. Here are eight things that you need to know about Becky Armstrong.
She had a bit of a nomadic upbringing
Becky was born on 5 December 2002 in Bangkok, Thailand. Her mother is Thai and her father is British. However, due to the nature of her parents’ jobs, the actress and her family often moved from country to country, resulting in her spending a good portion of her childhood overseas, in countries such as Australia and New Zealand.
In an interview with Thai magazine The Cloud, Becky shared that as a result of her family’s frequent moves, she found it hard to keep in contact with friends and to find a permanent sense of home in any particular country. However, she’s also grateful as the experience taught her that a ‘home’ can be wherever her friends, family and loved ones are.
Her childhood dream was to become a singer
Becky has been open about her passion for singing and songwriting, citing musicians such as Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo as her inspiration. In order to get closer to achieving her dream of becoming a singer, she auditioned for several competitions such as Thailand’s Got Talent, New Zealand’s Got Talent, The Voice and The Trainer. Despite not being selected to compete, Becky has said that instead of dampening her spirit, the rejections strengthened her determination to succeed and improve.
She made her acting debut in 2020

Becky’s first role came in the form of a supporting role as Thanyain TharnType 2: 7 Years of Love, a sequel to the popular Thai BL (Boys’ Love) series TharnType: The Series. This opened the pathway for her to sign on with talent agency Idol Factory in 2021, and to take on more supporting roles such as Fonin Secret Crush on You.
Gap: The Series, her breakout role, is her second project with co-star Freen Sarocha

Becky got her big break on the hit GL (Girls’ Love) series Gap: The Series, in which she plays Mon, a bubbly new hire in Sam(Freen Sarocha)’s company, who breaks down the icy and cold exterior of the latter and eventually wins her heart. Initially aired from November 11 2022 to February 11 2023, the series, which is now available on YouTube, was an instant hit, with the two leads winning multiple awards for their impeccable acting and palpable chemistry.
However, fans will know that Gap: The Series is not both Freen and Becky’s first project together: they had both been supporting actresses on Secret Crush On You.
She’s working with Freen on several upcoming projects
Indeed, the dynamic duo are nowhere near finished with their list of collaborative projects. Freen and Becky shared in our May 2024 cover interview that they’re currently working on two projects together. Namely, The Loyal Pin, the first-ever GL period drama based off a novel of the same name, featuring Freen and Becky decked out in aristocratic outfits in 1950s Thailand. The power couple are also shooting Uranus 2324, a love story between a NASA astronaut and a diver that is set to be released in theatres this June.
Her film debut was one of the highest-grossing Thai movies in 2023

Becky recently made her silver screen debut as Namo in Long Live Love! (2023), a romantic comedy about a dysfunctional but lovable family. The movie was a commercial success, making over 100 million Baht, and was picked up by Netflix for international distribution, where it can still be found for all budding Becky fans and comedy enthusiasts alike to enjoy.
