Calling all die hard art enthusiasts! Fort Canning Centre will be home to a collection of some of the finest, most exquisite art pieces by renowned artists in a pop-up exhibition from now until December 31, 2013.

The exhibition, called “The Art of Collecting, Masterpieces from the PInacotheque de Paris” is the first in the Southeast Asian region to showcase top-tier artworks by artists like Picasso, Andy Warhol, Modigliani and Botticelli. Usually kept behind closed doors, this exhibition will give people a rare chance to view these privately-owned artworks.

The nineteen exquisite masterpieces valued at one billion dollars will include works like Andy Warhol’s “Marilyn” and Hendrick ter Burgghen’s “The Lute Singing Player”. Visitors will be exposed to a variety of art genres like surrealism, impressionism and pop art.

“The Art of Collecting, Masterpieces from the PInacotheque de Paris” exhibition will be held at Fort Canning Centre until December 31, 2013. Booklets for children and adults will be available to the public for free. An iPhone application, which contains an e-catalogue and audio guide to the history of the artworks will be launched in mid-October, 2013. Admission is $7 for children, $10 for adults and senior citizens and $15 for adults.
