Bae Suzy’s bag game in Genie, Make a Wish is pure fashion fantasy
Arm candy alert – and no, we don’t mean Kim Woo-bin. Bae Suzy’s lineup of bags in Netflix’s latest K-drama Genie, Make a Wish is nothing short of every fashion lover’s dream
By Elise Wong -
Nearly a decade after their tearful pairing in Uncontrollably Fond (2016), Bae Suzy and Kim Woo-bin reunite on screen in the newly released Netflix series, which premiered on October 3.
Suzy plays Ka-young, a young yet fashionable mechanic with anti-social personality disorder, whose life is tightly controlled by her grandmother. Woo-bin is Iblis, a genie imprisoned for 983 years, freed after Ka-young’s past-life actions trapped him. Charged with granting her three wishes, he stirs both chaos and comedy, upending Ka-young’s life and intertwining their fates in unexpected ways.
Yet, beyond the story, it’s the former Miss A member’s wardrobe that steals the spotlight.
Against the show’s quaint, small-town backdrop, her ensembles radiate sophistication and flair, solidifying her status as a bona-fide style icon – and sometimes even outshining her devilishly handsome co-star.
From Hermes to Versace, Suzy’s bag collection in the show is a curated parade of luxury and taste, each piece carefully selected to elevate her character’s subtle yet commanding presence.
Here, we’ve rounded up some of the standout arm candy that makes fans and fashion insiders alike pause – and take notes. Beware, too, some spoilers ahead!

Hermes Fray Fray Birkin 35 in Rouge Swift Ecru and Twill H Canvas, with Palladium Hardware
Prior to the show’s release, Suzy posted a production still from the eagerly awaited fantasy rom-com. The image captures Suzy and Woo-bin in minimalistic, head-to-toe whites, with Suzy adding a bold splash of color through her accessories: the limited-edition Hermes Birkin Fray Fray 35.
Originally released in Summer 2021, the Fray Fray Birkin is a collector’s dream. Its Twill H cotton canvas extends seamlessly to the edges, finished with Hermes’ signature Sellier stitch. Mini-fringed detailing along the edges highlights the Swift leather and Palladium hardware, giving the bag its distinctive flair.
Available in shades such as Menthe (mint green), Framboise (vivid magenta), and Rouge (crimson red), these coveted bags command resale prices ranging from approximately S$30,000 to S$52,000. Suzy opts for the Rouge, perfectly echoing the striking red Rimowa suitcase behind her.
Roger Vivier Jewel Efflorescence Mini Bag in Velvet

Spoiler alert: in Episode 3, Ka-young and Iblis share their first kiss atop Namsan Tower under a glittering night sky. But Suzy’s accessory steals the scene – her Roger Vivier Jewel Efflorescence mini bag outshines even the luminescent Seoul skyline.
Crafted in sumptuous velvet, the clutch is defined by a gleaming buckle and delicate crystal-and-bead floral embellishments. A jewelled handle adds an extra touch of opulence, while a concealed metal chain strap offers versatility. Priced a breathtaking S$13,190, it’s a statement piece as enchanting as the moment it accompanies.
Delvaux Brilliant PM Leather Bag in Ivory

One memorable scene finds Ka-young testing Iblis’ magical abilities – specifically, whether he can fly – by pushing him off a building. While he emerges unscathed, Suzy’s Delvaux Brillant PM Leather Bag in Ivory makes a subtle but stylish cameo.
Crafted in Box Calf leather, the Brillant PM is defined by its signature trapezoidal silhouette and iconic horseshoe-shaped buckle. Accented with white metal hardware and a convenient back exterior pocket, the sculptural bag can be carried by hand or worn over the shoulder thanks to its removable, adjustable strap. Though currently out of stock on Delvaux’s site, resale prices range from S$6,000 to S$10,000.
Gabriela Hearst, Nina Bag in Ivory & Cognac Nappa Leather

Making a brief appearance in Netflix’s official teaser – and again in Episode 1 of the series – Ka-young traverses the Dubai desert on a tour before discovering the ancient lamp that sets the story in motion. Even in her reluctance, she wields her Gabriela Hearst Nina Bag with unmistakable poise, transforming it into a subtle statement of authority.
The Nina Bag, the original handbag in Gabriela Hearst’s collection, is named after the iconic artist and activist Nina Simone. Its structured top handle and distinctive round pouch, which unfolds gracefully from a rose-gold turnlock closure, lend the bag a sculptural elegance. Crafted from smooth Italian Nappa leather, its unique, almost basket-like silhouette sets it apart as a statement piece.
Produced in limited quantities, the Nina Bag in Ivory & Cognac is available by special order only. Pricing is not publicly listed.
Versace, Greca Goddess Quilted Leather Bag in Nude Pink

In Episode 4, Ka-young reveals her second wish to Iblis: to make her grandmother young again. Completing the scene is Suzy’s nude pink Versace Greca Goddess Mini bag, adding a touch of understated luxury to her all-black look, which also features the fur-fringed Misha Mini Dress from Sea NY.
Crafted from calf leather, the flap-style bag showcases the signature Greca hardware – with two, stacked motifs – and gold-tone accents. Its structured top handle and curved silhouette allow it to be carried by hand, while a detachable, adjustable shoulder strap offers a versatile crossbody option. On resale sites, this chic statement piece is listed at approximately S$1,967.
